You don't seem to be looking forward to dieting. May I suggest you go for a Ketogenic, Carnivore or other low carb or no carb diet. The advantages are that you won't need to count calories, and you won't suffer from hunger (after the first two or three days).

I’m in the middle of a 4 day fast. Just drinking water and no food for 4 days. It’s called a water fast. I started with a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting and gradually built up to multiple day fasting.

Good luck man, i had to change my diet also because i got multiple sclerosis, i recommend carnivore diet 👍 it made me lose weight and my gut health is better 😃

Just a thought. In my area I live in a condo in a big city and its serviced with an alley way. We have homeless/hungry continually binning for empty beer and pop tins to collect and return for the money. On occasion I do see canned and perishable food put out the taking. Now...its not the frozen stuff - but food that is just fine for a while left at room temperature. Its usually put in a plastic bag or a similar container to protect from the weather. Someone in need usually comes along and takes it fairly quickly. Likely better than discarding if its suitable for someone else.
