Love The HAPPY GOODMAN FAMILY. Over 47 years ago the group I sang with The SonShine SINGING open for the HAPPY GOODMAN FAMILY, our son Mick was 3years old he is 50 years ago now. It was a great treat for us to open for this great ANOINTED SINGING group. I thank GOD for the opportunity to sing along side of this wonderful singing group. There is another group that was a great friend of the HAPPY GOODMAN FAMILY, that was the SINGING RAMBOS BUCK, DOTTIE AND REBA. I SURE DO MISS THE HAPPY GOODMAN FAMILY, AND THE RAMBOS BUCK,AND DOTTIE.
I like this album.
So glad to hear the Goodmans !
HEARING THIS ALBUM? Makes me tear up with joy!! Takes me back to the VERY first time I met and heard the Goodmans in 1969 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Monticello Minnesota!!! My Dad's OCD of doing things in perfect order was broke that night when he bought at least one of every 8-track tape and album they had! And then he had to go buy an 8-Track player for the car!!! 😆
OMgoodness I never thought i'd come across these songs ever again , I'm 65 now and we had the album when i was a kid. My mom had about five of the Happy Goodman's albums and this was one of then and i had some cassettes later on and a few CD's . I will never forget when i was a young girl watching them on Gospel singing Jubilee. Our family would gather around our little black and white t.v . every Sunday morning except when we we go out of state to see my Grandmother and we would watch it there. Someone would say oh i hope the Happy Goodman's are on this Sunday. I wish I could find all those albums today , i'd buy them in heartbeat.
SO WOULD I Janey! So would I!!! This is MY KIND of music also!!!
God loves us and Jesus does too. Please accept Jesus into your hearts and lives if you have not already.
Was that Howard on piano?
That B3 was cookn
...and White wall tires too..
...The Bus is a early 1960s Eagle ...Silver Eagle Model 1....
Love The anointed Happy Goodman Family. A Group Called The SonShine Singers, Opened for the Happy GOODMANS in Paintsville Kentucky over 40 some years ago, my oldest son was 3 years then, is now 5o. My how times flys.
"Jesus said it, I believe it, his word will cannot lie..." if I ever find mr right, he's gonna have to love this music. :) I always loved the organ solo in this song! :D
I have been looking for this for years!! We had this as kids, then someone in the family took the album for themselves, so no one else could listen! YAY!!! You made my day.

Love this album! Thank you so very much for sharing and blessing so many!
I love this album!
Anyone know who the second female singer was who sung with the Goodmans back in 1964?
Or somewhere back there lol
@Nathan Crawford I am not sure. You can see her on the wanted live album
That would be Howard & Vestal's daughter, Vicki. Later on, one of Rusty's daughter's (Tanya,) would sing with the family.
@Nathan Crawford not in 1964
I'm 99% certain a friend that went to Capital Hill Assembly of God with me is playing the Hammond B-3 organ. Jim Boze.
Bill Purcell was the organist on this recording.
I wouldn't be surprised!
@@watermelonridge bill pursell on keyboards organ. Walter Haynes on steel guitar. Dwayne friend on lead guitar. Don't know about drums, bass.

I grew up in church listening to the happy Goodman family, the rambos in the early seventy's in Baltimore, Md. 1st UPC 200 N. Marilyn Ave. Essex/ Middle River Ralph McIntyre was my Pastor.
So did I! My grandfather pastored Asbury Tabernacle 52 McMillan St. in Cincinnati Ohio. :) He was there 52 years. I really miss this kind of music!
Same here in West Virginia
@Bobby Klein Absolutely. Are You?
@Bobby Klein absolutely are you?
@Bobby Klein which one is it you like? I think this is the whole album I would have to listen to many of their other albums to pick a favorite but my grandma used to sing God walks the dark hills and Ain’t no grave
Thanks for posting!
Great album! I didn't know the Goodmans did Louvin brothers songs.
They were from the same area here in Alabama.
My mom likes The Happy Goldman's. I'm into Contemporary Gospel. Stryper's pretty good.
Stryper's demonic.
hee hee Stryper's old school now, that was in the 1990's, 30 years ago. :D I like a lot of a variety of music, but the Goodmans take me back to my childhood and going to my grandfather's church. :)
In memory of my grandparents, Sue and Robert Moore and their son, Bubba who was blind and unable to walk or use his arm. Even so Bubba could hear and sing and because of God's beautiful plan, our family listened to this music and it changed our lives. Thank you, Jesus, for the Goodman Family and their witness of your unending love. I look to that glad reunion when we will see each other again and we can sing God's praises just like old times.
wow!
I grew up listening to this album. Thanks for sharing
Point of no return: Lord help me to always walk with you
I've had this album for 45 years.
it sounds to me like the band was not expecting Howard to reprise the chorus a second time at the end of "POOR RICH MAN" ....they recovered admirably though.
