Jess Takimoto | Mindset + Goal Setting
Canada
Приєднався 8 лип 2019
Hi I'm Jess! On this channel, I share about mindset and goal-setting so that you can become the best version of yourself and LIVE YOUR DREAMS. These are the practices and mindset shifts that enabled me to become an entrepreneur, fitness studio owner (@shinefitco) and content creator in my early 20s. If I had this content and advice sooner, I would've been so much happier and more successful. I share these videos so you don't have to struggle with the same things I did. Enjoy!
Do you feel like you’re behind in life, not far enough along, or not where you should be?

Law of Attraction: What is Manifesting and how to manifest?
I was laid off last month and it was scary. I immediately promised myself I would exercise a lot. I didn't have to spend too much time in a day job hunting and applying, I think, because of this concept you're talking about. Courage requires a lot of energy, especially for time dedicated to resume polishing, searching/applying, and interviewing. 💖
it absolutely does require a lot of energy! BUT energy creates energy - exercise (as hard as it is to start) will GIVE you more energy. Doesn't have to be fancy or long; just commit to 10min of moving your body and I promise it will help <3 cheering you on Wendy! thank you for this beautiful comment xoxo

Hey Jess, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your highly engaging videos and thumbnails which will help your video to reach to a wider audience and increase your subscribers and viewers.
hey did you have body odor when you had ibs??
I think it's a good analogy. I've been dealing with choosing a direction the last couple of days, so this is timely. Fear can be a player. I heard an analogy in a book today that to make it past the stunting fear of pursuing something, you need to believe that you can do it at least a little more than you believe you can't. Hope this helps someone. Thanks, Jess.

The worst thing about sharing your plans and golas is the critique. People say "What for?" , "You exaggerate", " It's a waste of money" and list of similar replies. I mean, I want to do sth. Why discourage?
@@DAG_M yes that’s exactly what I mean! If someone is going to criticize or you feel the need to justify why you want the goal, it’s better to keep it to yourself. Share selectively!
Insightful !! Could you suggest some best books and ur tips to read for regaining self belief after setbacks in career or job search to bounce back without being stuck at mediocrity.. what's the best kept secret for becoming an achiever who attracts massive growth/success in lesser time..
@@mohibquadri4053 Iove this question! Sorry for the delayed response. I will add this to my list for future videos!

Thanks for sharing, you just popped up on the feed. What you said about momentum and priorities is true.
Thank you! So glad you’re here
This video played automatically after a previous video I was watching and while the information is valuable, it was very hard to listen to because your style of speech is fast and choppy. I recommend taking a breath and gathering your thoughts or having a script nearby to refer to so you don't talk over yourself. No shade just an observation.
Thanks!
This could not have come at a better time for me, it’s uncanny 😱😱😍❤️
So grateful to hear that - not a coincidence Kimmi!
Doing something or something is very empowering! I haven't heard that before but that is a helpful mindset to have. Thanks for sharing!
Go get a job theres enough lazies on here doing this already
Ok. Thanks Jess
There are really strong ideas in this video that are helping me take action! Edit: Thanks, Jess If anyone is interested, the book Atomic Habits has a section devoted to identity shifting. It's a very strong concept. Personally, it helped me identify as someone who exercises, which I've now been doing consistently 5+ times per week for over a year. Also, I think it's important to not be afraid to be bad at things initially. Sometimes you have to gradually build a staircase to reach a goal that you can't immediately grab. That often involves starting with an intimidating plunge 🧊 that's easy to overthink
Thank you!
The part around 11:03 is bittersweet. Still figuring out how to take action to a level I'm satisfied with. Helpful video 👊
Thanks Dude! So glad it was helpful
1:39 THANK YOU! That is just what I needed to hear! 🤯 Action creates motivation, and also, I don't need to get motivated, I need to get moving! ❤️❤️❤️
Ah YAY; so glad it was helpful!!
Yes 🙌 but people are already doing that. I don’t value social media as important to society especially since it’s breeding degeneracy and low attention span. The real world still requires doctors, engineers, scientists, construction workers, teachers, Mothers, Fathers and countless other professionals to function. It has been seen in current times that people are not doing their jobs properly and this is concerning.
Not exactly sure what part of the video you’re referring to, but I’m glad you’re here regardless
@@jesstakimoto social media isn’t breeding critical thinkers, it’s run by desperate people looking for a quick buck.
I found this channel a few weeks ago. You provide advice and present a growth-oriented attitude that has helped me, and I'm sure many others, improve ourselves. Comments also help boost you in the algorithm (engagements). Thanks, Jess.
thank you so much!! so glad you've been finding my channel helpful and for the wonderful comments!! keep up the awesome work!
Thank you 😊
thank YOU for being here
omg, i didn't realize you had a youtube channel! As I was watching this, I was like "she looks like the owner of that dance studio" hahaha
Restart!
Some people need to learn how to take it one step at a time. When the time comes ,I’ll take the gray hairs from age & wisdom. Not from stress while young. The world will consume you if you let it.
That's the first time I came across your channel. I always wondered how creators felt when that happened. Also interesting that I came across your channel while scrolling even though I should be studying😅 A sign?
definitely a sign LOL (but so glad you're here)

You are so welcome! Thank you Belle for the kind comment <3
Absolutely correct. I was contemplating this yesterday and you just exposed the hidden trap
Hi, I visited your UA-cam channel. Your UA-cam channel videos are not fully optimized. That's why your UA-cam channel views and subscriptions are not increasing. To get your UA-cam channel views and subscribers you need to fully optimize your channel videos with targeted keywords to increase your channel views and subscribers. Then you will get good results for your channel

10:26 In the future can you make a 10 minute daily on systems please? What are they, why do we need them in our businesses, how do we create them, how did they help you? Loved this video, thank you so much for helping your viewers! ❤❤❤
Yes absolutely! Thank you for the request. Can you tell me a little more about what your business does so i can give you a specific example in the video?
@@jesstakimoto Of course 🥰 I'm starting a feminine fashion style blog that I also sell thrifted vintage dresses and knickknacks from. So basically a blog plus online store. I burnt out from pushing myself to work on it, on top of working my 9 to 5 job, and only sleeping 4 hours then waking up at 5 or 6 in the morning to workout and start the day all over again. That's why your videos have been so helpful to me. I didn't understand why I wasn't seeing better results from putting in longer hours. But thanks to you I'm learning a new way. Your content has been absolutely life changing for me! 🥹
omg wow. this comment made my day - thank you for sharing your story with me! You are so inspiring. What an incredible venture you're starting! So glad my content has been helpful for you and I will definitely make a video about systems soon! Keep going; you are doing amazing! XOXO, Jess

Right, right, let us all pretend that The Never Ending Story never was a thing. #NeverForget #TheHorseScene #WhatWasItsName? #IForgot
No, it actually isnt...
May I ask what camera do you use?
Literally just my iPhone! It’s an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I don’t use an external mic; that’s just the built in mic. I filmed this in cinematic mode and uploaded right from my camera roll to UA-cam. The only equipment I have is a phone tripod off Amazon! Biggest thing that will make a video look more professional is the lighting! I make sure I film in natural light and always in the morning when the light is brightest in my apartment! Hope this helps :)

One overlooked thing about “working smarter” is automation. We spend hours every week doing repetitive tasks that are frankly… annoying. Learning a bit of Python or Excel Power Query makes work life so much better and easier. The barrier to entry is also non existent as all the resources are available online and usually free unless you want a certificate. Just from personal experience, I started at a new job 2 years ago, it was a lot of manual data entry. So I did it manually for a few months to get the hang of it and then I automated the whole process. Saved me around 12 hours a week. I went from working overtime regularly to heading out early every day. But, if you do research this approach and you find it interesting, one piece of advice, don’t tell your manager about it. Else they’re going to just hand you more work.
What a wonderful reminder, thank you ❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for all your supportive comments; it’s truly comments like this that keep me goingn
Each time when I achieved sth i thought it was due to circumstances or luck and I would have never achieved it if things were different.
Classic imposter syndrome!! Circumstances, and luck definitely play role, but so does skill and hard work! I highly recommend doing some more research on imposter syndrome and how to overcome it🙌🏽
Challenge excepted!!
P.S i lovvvve your eyes they are so pretty 💚
awh thank you!!
