Just visited point Fermin. This was funny af.
Nice job on this one, guys!
This is great
Thank you for including Palmdale and Lancaster. Some people from LA don’t like to include the antelope valley as a part of Los Angeles county. Glad you two decided to include the high desert. For future reference though, Quartz Hill & Little Rock are also a part of the AV.
where can i learn to draw googie?
Chevy Chase's real name is Cornelius Crane
How can you guys say no1 remembers em? I was born in '85 & I've been a huge J&D fan my whole life since I was 6 years old! The Beach Boys are THE greatest, followed by the Ramones & Skrewdriver!
Bs
Man, you’re one old guy! You’ve been around since the 1800s DAMN! 🤧

Free Biddy...🖤
Well what hurt us in the Chicano movement I believe that the Old guard messed up and adopted communist , It gave the government an excuse to prolong the movement... Well in better terminology prolong the outcome desired by the movement I hate communism... As a poet with every fiber of my being because they kill so many of my fellow poets whenever they take over... Because a poet although a gentle creature Will speak truth to power... And lay down his life At least the real poet , not the ones groomed to get accolades and stuff All we have to do was make them live up to the Constitution like Martin Luther King said... Also the movement has stopped Are issues have never gotten addressed You understand the black Brothers plight So we chilled and let them address their grievances But we were erased now we're supposed to just call ourselves Latin and Hispanic as if the cultural rape of our Indian mother never happened Are civil rights should have been closely tied to native American Rights because half of our genetics are native American.. In some cases all No I'm not an idiot I don't want reparations or an advocacy to change the past because that's impossible and I don't blame the modern ancestors of the Spanish people for what happened as a matter of fact the conquistadors will probably be ashamed of them of what they've become in the EU And I certainly don't want any ridiculous , did or diversity training crap.. That would be an insult to the brilliance of my ancestors.. Chicanos we are tough... We waited until the right moment to be able to address our issue and then everybody jumped in front of the line The immigrant issue the broader Latino issue the LGBT issue And so on and so on and so on.. Give us a piece of federal land there isn't being used so we can build a museum honoring all of our contributions.. Possibly incredibly built like a temple Give the medal of Honor to the chicano soldiers that served in World war II and before World war II Because during that bias a lot of soldiers got overlooked and those soldiers deserve to be recognized especially in the halls of that museum if I could ... ever convince the president to do so Chicano identity was born out of adversity Chicano identity was born out of being an identity-less Projected by our cousins to the South For not being Mexican enough And rejected by the people of our own nation which we were born in which is in a nation based on race but based on values and share god-given rights.. I will defend the American Homeland with my life like if I was defending Aztlan itself because the beauty of the Constitution grants me the ability to say that I am a Chicano... Under a Russian and communist Chinese system They will execute us for descent... So let's not not pretend that America is the worst place in the world I am utterly Chicano and I am utterly American I've already made peace with my Indian mother. And I made peace with my nation without ever being recognized
Cerritos? 1971.
A strop is something used to sharpen a razor.
Worst thing, I ever listened to...constant interruption, for hack jokes. I couldn't listen to the whole thing. Most Annoying podcast
My dad planted a tree there in 1938 when he was a kid playing now it’s over 100 feet tall. He lived in Chavez Ravine.
La Victoria Salsa Brava (hot) is *bomb*
I've loved the chili from there. We don't have any Weiner schnitzel restaurants here in Ohio, but when I lived in Victorville, Ca. we had a busy location on D Street that sold dogs for . 29c each in 1979. I've described their chili taste like Taco Bell's Chilito (renamed Chili Cheese Burrito) That is why - the recipe originated from Tacotia! Wow!
Redondo Beach native, oregon resident. Thanks guys. Brings back a lot of memories
nice
My. History. Where I got my start. I was blessed to work with these legends. THAT’S also why my momma didn’t allow my sister and I to go to these events. But when I became an adult, I tried to engage, which was also a part of who I am. Now I understand both sides❤❤❤

If he was hiding in coffins while parents argued it sounds like there was some trauma, so no surprise he would start trying to make predictions from a young age to have some sense of control or hope. But then when you can make a career out of the shtick, there wouldn't have been a reason for him to look back.

It sucks that Vallarta no longer is an affordable Mexican supermarket. They're the same price or higher than Ralph's. But cater to the yuppies and now sell organic overpriced crap. El Super is the only way to go now.
great episode! thank you for the podcast
Thanks for reminding us about Mel Blanc's accident.
I would never regard Murry Wilson as "sweet "!

My paternal grandfather worked at bobs in the Burbank location during the early 50’s! He worked the breakfast shift as a cook. After he was released from San Quentin, he settled with my grandmother and had two sons, one who is my dad. He taught my dad how make the eggs, make the drop biscuits and make the coveted thousand island dressing! It is still a secret between me and my dad. My grandfather passed away in 2005 after his half sister murdered him by pushing him down a stairwell for his life insurance policy. He still pays a visit to my dad and me, but he is a force of nature and is a serious omen.

Where's Tarzana?
TAPATIO is #1 sauce. It goes with whatever you got, fruit, michelda beer, a bag of Doritos, sea food, cup O' noodles soup, tuna with crackers, elote loco (corn) etc. It is gringo style hot sauce but I know the difference on when to pull out the real salsa and when not too. Like for example if I'm gonna bbq some carne asada, for sure it's gotta be some homemade stuff and some Pico de Gallo. When it's some Mole or Birria same thing, home made salsa. But out of all the stuff you could buy TAPATIO is number #1. Sometimes you buy a sauce and it's too extremely hot, so hot that you lose out flavor on whatever you we're eating
Back to the future and E.T filming locations. In Arleta and Granada Hills respectively 👀
I really love this vid. I hate to be that one person but I must say,,, you posed in Whittier in front of the Buddhist temple in Rose Hills. Rose Hills is technically not part of the city of Whittier but is in unincorporated Los Angeles County. I only know because I live there lolllll. but I still love this vid.

Cool vid! I usually listen to vids rather than watch them, but i actually watched this one... well... because i had to. Because there's no audio informative.
This was amazing! Also, can't forget the motel behind Kountry folks on sepulveda and van nuys HS both in euphoria. I think they do most of their filming in the valley.
Riiiiiiitchie!!!!! 😂
This was amazing. Seeing each city's unique landscape, architecture, and downtowns. 88 Unique cities in one giant county.
Is Glendale not part of the valley
Loved this, thank you for the info.
There would be no "Beach Boys" without the "Wrecking Crew"
I was in a play and I was Toto
