    Great videos, you clearly have tested them all out well and seem to know your stuff. In a previous video showed how much you love the Boa tightening system. What is your thought or opinions on the Mammut Nordwand 6000? It seems like it might be best of both worlds. After hearing how the La Sportiva’s would break, the sole construction on the Mammut gives me pause. Would love to hear your thoughts.

    Do the cuffs fit over ski boots?

    • @TheBelaytionship
      @TheBelaytionship День тому

      They should, at least to the level of a backcountry ski boot. A resort boot could be pushing it, but they were designed around ski boots & mountaineering boots

    I have the Das Parka and It's a great jacket and I love everything about it, but I really really hate the hand warmer pockets. Where I'm at up here in AK I use it for 40 to -15, and as a photographer doing my thang in the cold I NEED hand warmer pockets that fit a mans hands not a toddlers hands. Hand warmer pockets are `not big enough, and this thing is supposed to be a belay jacket...? I'm really bummed because again I really do love the jacket but my hands barely fit in the bottom hand warmer pockets, not to mentioned they're not lined at all, so with my landscape/seascape photography it creates a major problem, and forces me to wear thin gloves when I shouldn't have to. So bottom line one of thee greatest jackets ever made but the hand warmer pockets are a joke and are too small. Peace

    Question on fit: I’m a 10.5 normally and everyone seemed to suggest to size up one so I went to 11. It feels like there is a little bit of space in the front, so would it better to downgrade to a 10 as They say the leather will form to your foot over time?

    You're supposed to use a hard shell against rain, snow with any down. So you can still use it if there's any precipitation as an insulator.

    Comfort Really relates to foot shape.I use all the solutions (I down size 1.5 sizes from snug street street shoes).It Takes about 10 or slightly more sessions to break in on my feet though which I have to admit feels like hard work some of the time.

    Videos like this are equivalent in usefulness to looking at a picture while reading a Reddit thread. That sounds kind of harsh but I mean it constructively. It’s a step up from the ones where you sit in a chair. Consider what makes a video valuable over reading an article or looking at a still photo. You’re not really tapping into that potential in any of your videos really.

    In fairness to Patagonia, it’s pretty hard for any fabric to resist ripping on sharp ice screws. I wonder if some kind of stiff, laminated fabric would help, so that the screws just slide past instead of catching. Once a screw tip catches, nothing short of steel will stop that puncturing the fabric.

    Hey! I am trying to decide between the tx guide and the tx2 evo leather (women's versions). I watched both your reviews but I would like your opinion on which ones you would personally recommend, for long approaches and easy pitches on multipitch routes and possibly muddy terain . My feet are not narrow but i tried a size up on both and they were both comfortable but a bit too long (I think a half size would be best). Thanks in advance!

      After about 3 sessions they were fairly broken in. I’ve find them to be super comfy while climbing on rock, but they still definitely hurt a bit while climbing inside. It was really helpful to wear the plastic liners that come in the box while I was breaking them in. I downsized, so even just getting some on my feet was a struggle at first.

    could you comment a bit more on how wet you got them? im deciding between these and the cairns. i feel like in terms of overall usability, i can get more out of the clog but i live in a country with a lot of beaches, walking along a coast, riding on a boat and potentially dipping my feet in water (although not water shoe levels) which is where i feel like the cairns come in. i can only really afford 1 for now. can the clogs take that level of water and slightly more?

    No edge definitely has a weird break in period. They will initially feel terrible and you will pop off foot chips but if you stick with it one day they suddenly feel amazing. Another benefit of no edge is that I find they are much more durable . I climbed in a pair of mantras which are extremely soft but ended up being one of my longest lasting pair of shoes

    If you are a heavier, taller climber looking for a Vibram Grip 2 bouldering shoe that is good at edging on small footholds there are not many options (I owned them all): Scarpa Quantix SF and Instincts VSR are great but not asymmetric enough, which led to problems with the big toes. Booster and Drago, are a little too soft, especially the ladder. The La Sportiva Solution is an amazing shoe at overhangs, but it has this strange „claw“ that is the opposite of NoEdge technology and places a good 2 cm rubber between your toe and the wall, creating the worst leverage that makes it nearly impossible to stand on small footholds. The Mandala is the only shoe so far that is perfect in all regards. Amazing at small edges, still sensitive, asymmetrical and precise. Also the toepatch is modern and large.
