What muzzle device and adapter are you running on your supressor?
@@chillwill0330 Rearden for both, Atlas for the adapter and RPB for the muzzle brake.
@ thanks. I am building my Spear LT 11.5 SBR now. Think I’m going to go with the Q cherry bomb and Plan B combo. Gonna run HUXWRX Ventum 762. On 5.56
@@chillwill0330 if you ever intend to run that with no suppressor you may want to consider other options as the cherry bomb is designed specifically for their family of suppressors, and with no can they are insanely obtrusive to shoot. I have a 762 Ventum I’ve shot on this as well great can you should be happy either way.
@ thanks for the info
@ I may just run the QD hub from HUXRX and their 5.56 muzzle device
Has your rearden gotten stuck? I've had issues between my black nitride muzzle device, and raw heat treat atlas.
@@mikutrash5050 yes it’s happened a number of times to the point where it’s dislodged my poorly rocksett hub.
@osprey-agency same, it's happened so many times at this point, that I'm having to figure out how to remove the buildup of rock set from the hub and can threads. I brought this problem up on reddit, and got a bunch of hate for it.
@@mikutrash5050 I can’t speak to the frequency but from my understanding the locking collar is doing its job a bit too well lol there are remedies but I’d have to go back and look them up it’s been a while sense I read it.
@osprey-agency I'm pretty sure rock set is sodium silicate, and that should be devolved with a dilute solution of sodium hydroxide. From what I've looked up, a 15% solution or less could work, and would be safe for 17-4 stainless. I just have to try it out, I'm gonna do it on the atlas first so as not to accidentally melt the threads off my can
A FN545 is not an ‘ideal’ pistol for that suppressor. You’re going to want to port your barrel to get a decent effect if you’re sticking with that junk pistol
How difficult was it to install the Huxwrx on the Spear LT?
@@chillwill0330 not difficult at all, heat gun on the original muzzle device to remove the rocksett, I bought the wrong muzzle device but made it work with a Sig collar to provide a shoulder for the muzzle break.
Hmm. So I wonder if the only reason they aren’t compatible according to Sig is the difference in finish between the Virtus and Spear LT. The LT is Anodized which is adds very little material if any. The Virtus being Cerakote adds a layer of ceramic slightly changing the dimensions. Really wish my Virtus was Tanodized and not Cerakoted as Cerakote just isn’t as durable in my experience. May have to go this rout instead of the MI handguard if it’s lighter.
If they had made a ventum 556 K I probably would have jumped on it, I run a 12.5, and I don't really want a 6+ inch suppressor hanging off my gun.
What gas setting was this on?
AFT ??
thanks needed the spear lt handguard for a bullpup build
Yo what bullpup chassis are you using?
the reap weaponries SCY. It did not work with the oem virtus handguard or spear lt handguard. I wasted $400 but the bulpup chassis is legit, wont work for MCX but great for standard mlok hg for ar15
@@mrdewb Ahh bummer. MCX bullpup would be sick. Thanks for the reply!
@@kgreene9881 yeah honestly thought id be the first not even a chance 😂
Great vid man, thanks!
What did you have to do to use the rearden muzzle device on the Sig taper?
Good Ol rubber mallet
What scope and mag offer are.ypu using?
PWS just dropped 360 tapered brakes that work great on the MCX, if you wanna get that can just a little closer
Hell yeah, man, you're my people for sure. I've got a few ARs. I mainly collect bullpups anymore. But I've only recently started assembling again. Figured it's time to do my own pinning and staking. 😅
I'd like to hear more about what you think of the Sig Virtus and how it compares to the LT
Nice vid. Yeah, the transition from building cool rifles to actually having to use them on the clock is eye-opening. "Nice to have" capabilities get sidelined and you quickly focus down on what you really need for 99% of your shooting. And weight - weight gets a much bigger vote after wobble-zoning your way through a half hour of offhand shooting. :)
I'm kinda over new 556 guns at this point. I have a 556 rifle I'm happy with, and I will probably never replace it. There might be a recoil impulse or even an accuracy difference between certain guns, but for most people, a rifle is a rifle is a rifle. Until the firearms industry works out the next big leap in small arms tech, I'm not really all that excited about buying another long gun.
Of course you didnt have to change the gas settings on the guns, because you were using a flow thru suppressor thats doesnt have a bunch of back pressure over driving the guns..
Could you do a review of your Arisaka lights? Thank you!
Keep these videos coming man
Wow, quality review and very interesting kit. Thank you! /subs
btw subbed.
Im guessing your an IT professional or upper/middle management. I commend you on ability to deliver excellent info in a tight precise way. No fluff and love the sideways shoutout to Mike Garand Thumb with the "Tip to butt". Excellent weapon system. I have the MCX upper in 300blk and am waiting for my tax stamp for sbr and cans. While waiting I got a CMMG Dissent pistol in 5.7 and love it. I too want to have an armory but no funds and no place to shoot long rifles locally. Im looking into my own land but jobs hard to find right now.
Wow do I feel seen! Lol how you were able to discern that from my video is impressive! You are correct my background is in IT and I am upper management 😁. CMMG makes some solid stuff! I’ve never shot anything in 5.7 so I imagine that’s a lot of fun to shoot. The MCX is a great platform for multiple caliber uppers, I recently cut a 300blk barrel from my previous Virtus to work with the Spear LT so it’s a great combo I plan to do a video at some point! As far as a job keep at it man it’s bad all over - but the thing I tell myself when I’m looking for new opportunities is it only takes one person to say yes. just keep going until you get that yes.
@@osprey-agency Talking about "use-cases" gave it away.
I had to upvote for video cuz IM a SIMP FOR SIG & HUXWRX. I then downvoted as I am still waiting for my cans as its been 1.5 yrs so far.
Why would you want a suppressor that sparks as much as that? Much better options out there than that can. Loud AF also. My Sandman K with the 556 endcap has much better flash mitigation and is quieter than that can.
Lots of suppressors have lots of different use cases, low back pressure is a high priority for me as I use it on multiple hosts and it mitigates gas well. Sparking isn’t an issue as it doesn’t do that long term and has no impact for me. I have multiple cans that are good for various hosts this is just one. I’m glad yours works for your particular setup though, just keep in mind it’s like saying “why not buy a truck, my Ford Raptor is awesome for me.” I’m sure it is- but my needs are specific to a sports car application needs.
@@osprey-agency There is no use for a suppressor that sparks like that, and it won't go away with time. I have 5 suppressors including low back pressure ones that don't spark like that, or else I wouldn't buy them.
Well according to people who actually own and use these in a regular basis they have had a different experience, but you clearly have a wealth of knowledge and are an expert beyond my capabilities, Thanks for sharing! www.reddit.com/r/NFA/s/1fRchwm0rO
It stops sparking after about 100 rounds.
@@jrowinski82 hux says ~200 rounds for break in then sparking is gone. Sorry your knowledge is lacking for this
Just got a LT. want to put a flow 556 on it but if im correct i need a taper cap for the muzzle i choose right?
Yes... you'll need the taper adapter. Really annoying from Sig. Proprietary taper behind the threads and 1/2 bottle of rocksett on the proprietary muzzle device.
Rearden Manufacturing does have a muzzle device that is tapered and does not require a collar so you do have an alternate option if you so choose.
@@mtnmist1where donyou get the taper adapter from?
Love the vid, thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the video bro keep it up!!! Great conent, and some sick guns

Dude, please do a review on the Arisaka lights?? Awesome video!
Will do, I use them exclusively so I can’t really compare them to say a Surefire because to be honest I refuse to pay almost $500 for a weapon light. But absolutely I’ll be happy to do a quick review!
Bro please please please try to put a virtus handgaurd on the spear with the Arisaka MCX Virtus/Spear LT Zero Retention Clamp
Let me see what I can do about that LT clamp I’ll have to see if I can order one.

Subbed. Always great to find a local to support. I stumbled across your stuff and really enjoyed it. I can tell you that the HuxWrx Flow I use feels like I get no gas back from my MPX rifles.
Looking forward towards a long term review.
I have a 1000 round update in the pipeline it won’t be a long video but I’ve learned some things living with this setup.
Great review!
Thank you!
Were you able to use the sig spear muzzle device that came with the gun with your ventum
I ultimately didn’t want to commit to an sig suppressor system, as the vast majority of long guns are setup for Rearden Manufacturing devices.
Does yours have a lot of blowback?
No surprisingly very little to none, now that being said I do have very long arms and almost 90% extension when I shoot so that may have something to do with it
SUBBED...💪
Informative, straightforward and nice gear. +1 subscriber 🤙🏽
Thank you for your comment and subscription! All feedback is welcomed and appreciated!
Great video. I'm considering grabbing the same setup as you. Curious though - Is it hearing safe with the short configuration obsidian?
I would consult Pew Science as I’m not credentialed to answer that question- I can say that I had no hearing discomfort shooting unsuppressed. The 45 is subsonic by default so adding a suppressor minimizes the noise considerably. I’d check out a website called Pew science they really go deep into the decibels and data behind noise reduction.
When u said subscribe in the video the subscribe button did this color animation wth
Why ? Lol
Well It’s an objectively better handgaurd than the factory one and the Midwest Industries option. It’s lighter and smaller than both. I don’t know if you realize it but the MCX virtus and the Spear LT are functionally the same exact upper receiver just one is gray the other is tan -so it’s not crazy to think that you’re just putting a factory handguard on the same gun lol just needs some paint.
it is a better shape to c clamp compared to the virtus oblong shape
What can cover is that?
Mechanix wear but I modified it slightly a.co/d/goKaDyd
@@osprey-agency no issues hopefully. I would suggest Liberty covers but they are pricey
@@killacamfoo you know, the irony is so far it’s out performed a higher priced cover I made a video about in my channel.. I suppose I either need to stay with these cheapo’s that run well or pay literally 10X what I paid for these for decent ones. I’ll check out liberty though haven’t heard of those yet! Thank you for the recommendation!
What stock do u have on it?
it’s just a Grey CTR with a slightly thicker but pad. magpul.com/ctr-carbine-stock-mil-spec.html magpul.com/enhancedrubberbutt-pad-0-70.html
Suppressing 5.56 is useless. That thing is still loud as shit!
Its more for flash suppression during the night
@@tacotuesday370and i’m sure it has to do with damage control, it’s still “quieter”
My AR15 is not as loud as I thought it would be honestly ,but yeah I agree that its made for a reason .Being discreet is not one of them 😂
@@tacotuesday370 Why would you spend $1,000 on a suppressor when you could get a flash hider for $100? I highly doubt that’s the case.
Have you shot next to someone indoors? It definitely has its uses😂
Hello from San Antonio! 🤘🏼
Hey brother on your 300 blackout virtus can you please tell me what stock that is please, I would appreciate it
Sure the it’s just a Grey CTR with a slightly thicker but pad. magpul.com/ctr-carbine-stock-mil-spec.html magpul.com/enhancedrubberbutt-pad-0-70.html
Yes so being a MCX owner you know that the platform does not have a buffer tube, instead it uses the 1913 pic rail on the rear. With that being said the CTR usually goes on the traditional buffer tube and not the skinner more square attachment for the MCX adjustment stocks. Is there a piece of info that I'm missing that allows you to use regular stocks on the platform while still using the MCX stock rod, or am I mistaken and you have always been able to put regular stocks on that rod, or is it a special adaptation or specific CTR model of stock I need to buy.
@@austinplatt8011 Ah ok I was confused -I think your original question is under its own comment elsewhere. Regardless, that’s easy get one of these : www.sigsauer.com/sig-sauer-stock-adapter-low-profile-tube-1913-interface-folding-knuckle.html The Virtus came with that folding apparatus I didn’t buy that aftermarket.

@@osprey-agencyperfect that is exactly what I am looking for, thank you so much brother.
Great video man! I own a spear lt in the 16 inch variation. I really want to get a .300 blackout upper for it and run my suppressor with it. I do have a radian model one and chambered in .300 blackout, so I’m not sure if dropping the money would be worth it to just have on the MCX platform. Very informative video and great looking rifles you have there!
Thank you for the feedback and appreciate the view and comment! So really what I’ve come to learn generally speaking is the mission should drive the build. I unfortunately learned that a little late lol. Short story long I bought the Virtus a year or so ago in 556 and then bought a 16inch 300BLK barrel for it, I recently bought the LT Spear and found out the virtus barrels are backwards compatible- so I got the 300BLK barrel cut for the spear that’s already an SBR and kept the 16 inch 556 for the Virtus. If I had it to do all over again I would’ve just had 1 upper with a 556 16 inch barrel and a 10.5 inch 300BLK barrel. Just my cheap 2 cents!
Don’t leave live rounds in your mag even if you made sure the chamber is clear🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ That is not “cleared and safe”
Makes sense thank you for the feedback!
Ok next question, how did you get it on the MCX?
@@austinplatt8011 Glad to help but when you “say get it on the MCX”, can you help me out with what “it” you’re referring to? I may need a little more context.
