This is my Cummins Repower project.
Vp44 injection pump? Mechanical lift pump or electric? Did you have any trouble getting the pump and ecm to communicate and act right? Im messing with a lull telehandler forklift right now and it's got me stumped. It's in "limp mode" coz the pump and ecm ain't talking...
@coatneyadkins9005 it is common rail. No lift pump. High pressure pump has its own gear pump on it.
I’ve been thinking about swapping the Cummins 4 into a 02 Durango but I want to know if anyone has any knowledge on that
How much was the qsb4.5? Did you had a custom made harnes for the engine or was is supplied in any way?
Any updates??
Man thats great!!
Hi, Matt, nice job! Could you please send me the wiring from the pedal to the ECU plug. Six wires. Thanks Ron
Looking at doing the swap what do I need to find for computer stuff. Why did you go with the qsb instead of the ISB I have a 2016 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel with a blown engine this looks like a great step up from a 4bt
Qsb is probably easier to come by. I'm looking to do the same.
Hey man love the build Where you get your tunes/tuner I have the same engine im doing a swap with thanks in advance
Mmatz10@gmail.com
Very nice.
Sounds like an industrial engine and not a 6.7 😂, it probably doesn't have pilot injection and maybe a different starter
Advanced timing on cold start. Pilot injection doesn't come in till ot warms up
Nice sounding Cummins QSB Engine
I'm really interested in doing this swap myself. I've been working on a few things for this engine that you might be interested in. How can I contact you?
Mmatz10@gmail.com
Mpg?
Up to mid 20s
That more rigged than my s10 with a blower on it, but if it sends its mint!
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 (classic), and have been debating putting a 4.5 isb vs 4bt once my the v6 dies. Is there more support for the isb vs the qsb? I am also not tech savvy, so would the 4bt be a better option?
good choice of batteries
Aca Panamá motor viene busitos japoneses noseven mucho
Seen your vidz from early on when you first started building this project. Always been interested, thanks for sharing.
Hi Matt. I'm not sure if you are still on here but thought I would give it a shot. I have pulled my 4.5 from a generator set along with the CM850 ECM. I will be installing into a 1977 F250 4x4 and mating it to a Ford E4OD transmission using Phoenix adapter. My friend is a Service Supervisor for Cummins in my area and we are trying to figure out which calibration to program my ECM with. I would like to keep it operating on a 12 volt system which is where its at with the Generator setup. Can you give me any help with which calibration to use? Thank you.
What is your engine serial number
@@mattmatz374 73188202
@@shanereaves3797 please have your friend find me at work. Would be easier to talk about this
How much did you spend to have this done and where and how much . I’m really wanting to Dirksen swap my 1500
With buying truck....16k. I did all the work minus transmission adapter
Can you use a starter from a 98-02 24 valve cummins behind one of these engines?
No. Have to use a different one
How much horsepower is it making?
No idea... would guess 200 at the most
Do you still have the truck? How does it do on the road? Also what is the transmission setup? Kicking around the idea of throwing one in my 99 Durango.
What bell housing and Transmission
47re with firepunk controller. Custom adapter from Phoenix castings. Went from SAE 3 to 47re
Turbo?
He221w holset
What came with engine
Is that the same as a 4bt
Not really. It is a rear gear train version. So lot less adapter selection
This one has more torque.
What ecm are you using ?
Factory Cummins CM850 ECM
Awesome truck. Would love to see what you’re doing with the throttle when starting it. Ever tried pumping it?
Just pressed once to get into high idle mode. When cranking the fuel pump governor is already at max fueling
I know this is an old thread, but what are you getting for Fuel Economy?
Ben Chase 22 in summer fuel...if I keep my foot out it lol
Matt Matz, Nice swap! I would like to talk to you sometime about a similar swap I'm looking at. (6.7 QSB in a Super Duty)
Where did you get the engine?
Gehl Skidloader
Did it just snap right on to the transmission or?
Michael Wittmann no had an adapter made to go from SAE 3 TO 47RE
Hello, tell me what transmission, transfer case which, as it took time for the installation and assembly?
47RE with Anteater Controller. 241HD Transfercase. Took me 14 months in the driveway and lots beer to complete. Transmission came out of V10 truck.
In the end what transmission did you pair it to?
47RE with anteater controller.
do you have another video with the radio off? highway and cruising and also accelerating from a stop. trying to get an idea of noise level.
What ecu are you using? Did you get a doner truck like a bread truck or something and wire it to the dodge? Or is there a standalone ecu available? Also, what software are you using to change engine calibrations...are you just loading different factory calibrations onto the stock ecu, or are you actually manipulating the parameters yourself, like efi live, where you can adjust timing, fuel pressure, ect. Thanks for your help, cool swap!!
That was before engine and truck was done. Have wastegate now. Set to 25PSI boost now.
Had to clear the Power Steering Pump. Engine stays cool 180 all day long. Only gets to 203F sitting in traffic for awhile. Fan kicks in back to 180F.
this is my dream combo. would you do it again? anything to be aware of? what kind of mileage are you getting? is it 2wd or 4x4? have you tweeked the motor?
+Jonny Junglejuice Yes Would do it again on a different vehicle. This swap need custom oil pan. Was able to use 12V Mounts. There was considerable hacking to get it to work. MPG so far have been 20 to 23 MPG. Not Great but not terrible. Pulled a 7,000lb wood chipper down I80 at 70 MPH in overdrive with no problems.
+Matt Matz what year truck did you put it in? is it 2wd or 4x4? can you give us things in particular to watch out for? If you ever want to sell your truck, I want to buy it. Are you using the allison 1000? have you tweaked the engine at all?
+junglejonny1000 2001 Ram 1500 4x4. Takes special transmission adapter from SAE Housing to Dodge 47RE bolt pattern. Trans is a mild built 47RE with billet converter. 17k miles so far no issues. Truck PCM is still controlling transmission.
+junglejonny1000 Engine is at Stock 158HP/420 Torque calibration. Was at 170/460. Took down for better fuel mileage. Right now truck is not for sale. If had to sell would be 25k for time and what I have in it.
+Matt Matz where did you get the trans adapter? I thought it was the SAE #3 specific for only this engine because of the rear gearing on the motor instead of front gearing like the dodge's. Kind of disappointing that you are not getting better fuel mileage. Are you running big tires, low axle ratios or something that would pull the mileage down significantly? I would think that you would have changed the axle ratios and the stall on the torque converter with this motor right? Might as well go to common rail 6bt and get a lot better mileage and power do you think? There is a guy on youtube that put an old rotary pumped 4bt in an f150 that says he gets like 35-40 mpg. I thought that the ISB 4bt would get about that and be quieter and such, I guess I will have to rethink this.
BADASS!now MAKE A DRIVING VIDEO!
Jon it makes 170 HP 460 Torque. That is 100% stock. Don't plan on turning up any more. That should be more than enough for a 1/2 ton truck.
+Turbo617 Sounds like someone is jealous.
10-9
***** No. I was talking to you.
What kind of power is that thing making I'm thinking of doing a swap once my 4.7 dies whenever that is
