Kidney failure is why I lost my cat Taz. Unfortunately, his was unrecoverable, so I had to make the difficult decision to have him PTS, as he was not doing well. I pray that Waffles can be helped with the medication & you get some more time with him (& he feels better).

Oh poor Waffles! I am not a vet, but I've had pigs and I'm just going to spitball some random ideas in the hopes something medicallt makes sense. Would they still be willing to try Lasix even though her heart seems fine to at least reduce fluid to get a better view on imaging or relieve discomfort? Would kidneys? or liver? cause a back-up like this? Like stone obstruction causing fluid if the liver-kidney area is weak? I have no idea if pigs get/can be tested for Cushing's type hormonal problems either. has anyone seen this in skinny pigs specifically? Praying for little naked baby Waffles! ❤🙏

I recently had something very similar happen to one of my skinny pigs and she went on medication to try to reduce some of the swelling and fluid and it worked for a couple of weeks but she didn’t end up making it. Further testing indicated it was cancer 😔 and we had to have her PTS. I’m so sorry to see this happening to waffles. I hope for a better outcome for her 🙏❤️
