My theory for this is that ego truly saw himself in isagi, but the same as he was for noa, just a player used to evolve the perfect striker, he wants to use isagi the same to perfect Rin as the best striker, but i think isagi will not fall and surrender like Ego did when he was playing with noa, rather he will surpass his expectations to be the #1.
