    I finished Cujo last night. I felt like your review completely missed any symbolism and what the book is about - human vulnerability. Life is so tough for every character. Every individual plot line is stressful, and the monster in Tad's closet was something different for everyone. The dog was the personification of the monster for Tad but losing a job, an abusive husband, never being happy was it for other characters. There may have really been an evil presence in there and I like that it's ambiguous. It's known that Stephen King wrote this book in the lowest point of his alcoholism(he doesn't remember writing it) and it feels to me like a big old expression of "life sucks".

  • @vichenry171

    Good movie romance. I read the backstory of how the actors originally meant for the role were Elle Fanning and Diego Luna. Observation demands a lesson in type. The older Elle gets, the more you realize her face looks 13 years old. It explains why she is never cast opposite an older man in a romance movie where they are the leads. While Hollywood has done it's share of that with newbies, Elle is way too established and her reputation is on the line. She's a strong woman and no doubt saw what that practice did to previous actresses, negatively. Turns out the last minute change was a good choice, all the way around. The movie is very inventive, which is rare and therefore took some getting used to. As you stated, the makers seemed a little less of having faith in their premise. Good thing it stayed around for 3 years.

  • @eshim3961
    @eshim3961 Рік тому

    The monster in Tad's closet is an early attempt by Stephen King to link characters within the Castle Rock universe. It was alluded to be the spirit of Frank Dodd, the cop/serial killer who was caught by Sheriff Bannerman (The cop Cujo killed) and psychic Johnny Smith in the Dead Zone. Though Cujo is one of my favorite books, I think the premise was scarier without the supernatural element. That angle was left out of the movie (oh, and the person who died in the book lives).

      Hi William! Thank you sincerely for the compliment. The short answer is the job became increasingly dangerous and stressful for my family and I. Between the lawsuits, the media and a case with a missing young girl (she was 1 of 5 murdered girls by two serial killers), I could no longer trust in my abilities to keep my family and myself safe. We didnt know it at the time but there was an agenda against the bail industry coming to the surface and we were smack dab in the middle of it. For me, it was best to bow out as graceful as I possibly could. If you'd like a free copy of my book, I'm more than happy to send it you. You can send your info through my site at ronifaciane.com.
