I'm a first generation, Chicanx, composer and sound designer who has always had a healthy obsession with all things nerdy. I love it all, from video games and board games, to role-playing in Dungeons & Dragons campaigns as a bard. I keep a pair of large metal 20 sided dice around my desk when I need something to fiddle with, or to make a performance check. These narrative driven hobbies have wormed their way into the sounds that I create. Much like these fantastical mediums, I focus on the stories and experiences that a piece of audio might imply.

Inspired by the art of Aeor by Clara (@/eldritchblep on Twitter), I had to write some fan music! Went for a hybrid orchestral vibe for this one, the art made me do it. Hope you enjoy! This is NOT OFFICIAL music by/for Critical Role, I am just a fan of theirs and this is my form of fan art. Hey! Currently, I don't have plans to upload the patch anywhere, but around the 4:38 mark is where I show more of the patch and the native FX I use on it that would be a great start! A lot of it was trial and error for a number of hours, so def. take what you can from mine and make it as much as your own as you'd like 😃

Thank you for this Breakdown Kris! Really enlightening :D I had never thought of using "stable" and "unstable" layers for fuller whooshes before. Those along the strikes take the cake for me :0 Amazing stuff.
Glad that you got something cool out of it! I don’t always do that for whooshes, but it felt appropriate in this instance. I wanted the quality of the distorted/unstable whoosh, while also grounding it with something cleaner.
