How deep were u fishing,
This was in 130 metres... we were lucky enough to have glassed out conditions.
@@rawlosfishing i was behind rock drifting, couldnt find a bite, n yes backed right off through out the day
We actually expected more on the day being out deep, the sharks didn't move in. Always next time for us.

These are Canals fed by Lakes,
They certainly are, Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo and Lake Benmore all hold great fishing in their own right.
Hi. a comment from Sweden....I don't know if that river has connection to the sea, but that fish is far more a big Seatrout than a Brown Trout. To many small spots to be a Brown I think. In Sweden we have them both, often in the same rivers. Our Brown is brown with red spots and the Seatrout is just silver when it cames from the sea to spawn. Fantastic fish anyway. :-)
Hi and thankyou for watching, the area we were fishing is in the central part of the south island of New Zealand, no connection to the ocean that I know of. They do have sea run Chinook Salmon in NZ however, I'll do some homework for you.
Definitely not a seatrout ronny. Everything is just big in the south island of NZ. Including deer and other game. You have to come here to believe it 🤝🏼🐟🐟🐟
NZ is such an amazing place, we just love coming to visit.

We had such a great week chasing them and can't wait to go back. They continue to challenge angler's and we wouldn't have it any other way.

A range of long Samurai and Daiwa rods matched with 2500 sized reels, my personal reel is the Vanford however I do love my Stradic. All matched with 4lb braided line and 8lb leader.
Great recap on the trip mate, awesome footage and awesome fish by all and was a pleasure catching up and having an awesome week away with you and all the boys 👍🎣

Thanks for posting, looks like you guys did well! I was there for two weeks in July, temps as low as -7. Not a lot of flow that trip so did a lot of soft baiting, best fish went 12 pound, it's defiantly getting harder there. Next trip is planned for May, 3 weeks. Looking forward to your next vid.

Well done ! I'ts not a easy fishrie...due to the high pressure angling it let's.. nevertheless...time on the water, gets the results & smiles! It's a place you go back time and again...due to the fish it produces...I am sure you would have got some Intel..for next year.
I agree one hundred percent, I had such a good week and adore New Zealand. My personal fishing challenges will only encourage me to return. I'm open to all suggestions to help take the pressure off this fishery for future generations.
I've been trialing a new jig head -that you should try- they are super sharp+++++ & tungsten..they are an* outbarb and just been super impressed - if you get a chance try them..japanese "Ichikawa"for all things trout.
I'll jump online and check them out.

Thank you, I've had some days where I've missed out on the fish but that's Trout fishing. The Merri keeps throwing challenges at me and I love it.
Exceptional way to spend your holidays ! with some "Hog's" last few uploads just quality fish! that go hard & giving the stradic some " full angle"! for the canals try JH"Ryugi vespa & Keitech round head , well done & appreciate the up-loads.

That's a "Brute" of a brown !- the DC 's are always there from the shore or boat ! - I'm going to the carpet @ the end of May- before the close 25' - OCT is good ( cold mornings -sunny mid morning's ) - I soft bait it - my mate egg rolls - that fishery is next level ! have you given the Keitech ES a swim or the Charlie Brewer 3" ? - well done .
Thank you, there's some cracking fish in the Merri. I'll fish the carpet when it reopens in October, keep me updated on how your trip goes, New Zealand is such a special place. I've not given either a swim, I'll check them out too.

Lovely Fish ! Well done - ( *Just saying friendly - that's Not a Slim Swimz Zman ) the paddle tail is different - it's more like a Bait junkie minnow ? the shape of the tail & the line on the body close to the tail .
Thank you, maybe I'd put the Bait Junkie on and hadn't realised. I am using both, Z Man Slim Swim in the Midnight Oil / Houdini and Bait Junkie's in the Motor Oil / Fish Oil. I'll check when I get home from work today, still in the tackle box. Hahaha
Enjoy your "Freshwater" content , can you consider a lure : " Tw Buffet Jointed (51mm -3.8g ) by Tackle House - (Japanese ) I have had some great results in Eildon. Keep up the good work!
I certainly will, I'll jump on and have a look at them. It was the bait junkie too; I hadn't picked up on it until you made mention. I head off to NZ again in October so hopefully I'll get some great footage there as well.
Mate i brought a kayak for fishing once. Used it once, worst blistering sunburn on my lower legs ever. Only ever sold one kayak😂😂😂livin tinny life now 👍🏿
