This was an excellent film that needed to be brought to the light of day. Filthy disgusting times in South Africa, why hanging, why so damn many and why only blacks??? Now they wonder why blacks want their oppressors out of their country. This would make any normal person break.... in the end they were all victims and butchers for the system. 🥺

You could certainly make the case the government, politics of rival aviation companies with better connections cost Smith and Pethybridge

It's a great thing they made this movie back then to remind us all of these amazing people and times.

Mckenna Grace is the lead child. A very focused little actress. With foot long eyelashes. Original actress Patty McCormack is the shrink. "I'm going to tell you a secret.... I did the exact same thing as you when I was your age." Who ever wrote that line should be given an award!

Great film. Lovely to see an old Boomerang representing "Lady Southern Cross."

Why do they turn this into left wing propaganda ? Entrenching the politics of ethnic "diversity" all at the expense of the native British people. Always portrayed as bigoted, every other race can celebrate their race, but the English potentially risk prison for doing the same thing. This has got to stop. The original movie had to change the ending to bet past the sensors. It was against code to let evil win, so she had to be punished somehow.

Omg the girl that plays Emma is the same girl that played easther in handmaid's tale. She was phenomenal in that show as well.

What a boring movie

We who have the advantage of getting to see this movie, no matter the quality of the copy, should feel honored, this is 95 year old movie, and we here in 2024 should feel lucky that we were able to see it, I know I feel pretty lucky. I mean there weren't a lot of movies in 1929 with sound either, so that makes it extra special. Carole Lombard was really good in this too, as were the other actors in this, it was a really nice movie, with a good ending, something we rarely get nowadays. No violence or killings, just a good drama with a good story with a good ending. Thank you The Film Depot for making it possible for us to see this gem.
