Yes. You can record the midi notes via OP-1 and sequence them in OP-Z. Or you can take OP-Z as a sequencer for the OP-1 :)

hey, thank you. I appreciate that. yes, the OP-Z triggers all 4 tracks of the S-4. and that actually works very well. Other sounds from the OPZ are not played. The drums come from the Digitakt, which unfortunately didn't make it into the picture :)

I really like it, even though I had something else in mind. I initially thought it was a granular sampler, but there are better devices for granular synthesis. The Torso S-4 is an outstanding effects unit with a wide variety of modulation options. Unfortunately, it has some firmware issues that occasionally cause it to crash, and some buttons are currently unassigned. When you press them, they simply display ‘coming soon.’ That’s disappointing, especially for a €900 device. Still, there’s hope that more great features will be added. Because what the Torso already does, it does very well.

Thx <3 The Oxi is a perfect grid alternative, because of its own grid mode. But if you don't have so much money to spend. Try the toga script and the App Touch OSC.

How is the varibright? I was reading when it first came out it was hard to tell difference between brightnesses. Has this been resolved with firmware updates?

It is not as unambiguous as with the monome grid. But in the video you can actually clearly see which pad is active and which is not. There are also different colors in the sequencer. In grid mode unfortunately not
