MIT Quantum Nanostructures and Nanofabrication Group

The frontier of electronic and photonic devices lies in nanoscience and nanotechnology research. At the nanoscale, materials and structures can be engineered to exhibit interesting new properties, some based on quantum mechanical effects. Our research focuses on pushing nanofabrication technology to the few-nanometer length-scale by using charged-particle beams combined with self-assembly. We use the technologies we develop to push the envelope of what is possible with photonic and electrical devices, focusing in particular on the nanowire-based superconductive photodetectors. Our research combines electrical engineering, physics, and materials science and helps push the boundaries of what is considered possible in nanoscale engineering.

Hydrothermal growth of ZnO seems a bit tricky as it will want to form hydroxide or oxyhydroxides. Use a small bit of indium or Cu1 to make the crystals more conductive or sensitive to specific bands.

how S=cos^2(phi) become negative 0.25 at 16.03?
Right, the function f(x)=cos^2(x) is all positive
This is exciting .... was the protein saturated with gas? What atmospheric pressure was the protein scanned in? Does a magnetic field effect the imaging? Does any of these effect Gama? All this is so counter intuitive , I had to play it several times to get the gist of what was going on !
What copolymers were used in the experimental data shown?
Hi Jonathan! It is an in-plane cylindrical morphology PS-b-PDMS (Mw = 53 kg/mol) synthesized by Avgeropoulos research group, University of Ioannina.
