Your totally spot on about the UK it's way too expensive to live and the amount of taxes we pay is unbelievable. It's a shithole as nothing works. I really want to move out to Spain but just not sure how to go about it. I'm a skilled man in engineering and have papers to back me up but not sure about what work there is. As a British born, Long-term(19 years) resident here in Spain, I can honestly say that I not regretted a single day of having oved here in early 2006 and agree 100% with all that "Duncan" says. However, there is one to me, salient point which he has Not mentioned, it is simply this, "FAR LOWER LEVELS OF PERSONAL STRESS HERE"..!! People of "advancing years" such as myself and "semi-disabled", Are treated with Dignity and Respect, Never made to feel Vulnerable or even that they are an "inconvenience"...!! " Viva la Vida d'Espana.."!!

Couple more refreshment stops further down, el capitan and banana blue and a good size dia supermarket. Can vouch for casa India, it's excellent, we go there every time we are over plus it's walking distance from us. Camaleón is a fun little night out too.

Hola Duncan, Congratulations you are doing very well. CAROLINE, DUBLIN CALLING, GOING TO LOSALCAZARES OVER 25 YEARS SO have a very good knowledge of the area. I live in Losalcazares for 9 months of the year since 2019 And return to Dublin for 3 months only. Delighted you filmed the area from old town, passed Hotel Costa Narejoj and mentioned La chapaso, Pharmacy , run by Pepi, best chemist in Losalcazares, he is a qualified doctor and so kind to everyone, particularly the elderly. Also Facona is excellent, more expensive than Aldie or Liddle but very popular with Spanish. Over the years my experience is always follow the Spanish as an fantastic guide , they know where to go😊. My favourite bar is La Ola, any time of the day, so friendly, particularly as a woman on her own, one feel so comfortable, lost my glasses, prescription 300 Euros, after 3 days searching, Sabadol had them for❤ me. One last thing you must high light is health care in Spain, Unfortunately I had a terrible fall a few days. Had to go to Hospital Argos, 20 minutes from Losalcazares. 1 broken rib, 2 fractured ribs, treated so well, excellent as opposed to Ireland. But Ireland is in the EU as opposed to Britain. XRAYS, MEDICATION COST ME NOTHING 😊 MY 2 JACK RUSSELL DOGS HEADING ON 18 YEARS. IN CONCLUSION, SPAIN IS FANTASTIC COUNTRY TO LIVE ONE ONES LIFE, ESPECIALLY IF RETIRED 😅😊❤😂 WELL DONE ESPANA. ALSO Try and make the effort to speak a little bit of Spanish. Duolingo is fantastic to learn. I DO 10 MINUTES AT LEAST EVERY DAY AND COSTS ME NOTHING. SORRY FOR THE BIBLE.

Thanks for the video Duncan. Interesting to see that bottom area. That whole area around “The Strip” seems fabulous. And the bottom end is so close to the beach! Definitely worth exploring more I think. I’m guessing by the nickname “millionaires row” I won’t be living there anytime soon but loving the look of that hotel on the corner. Definitely putting that on my “check this out” list 😊. Beautiful area, a real gem I think.

We’ve been calling it Millionaire row for 18 years, for that same reason of the price and size of the houses.

Los is pure heaven and the beautiful Mar Menor 😅😅😅😅

Thanks for the video Duncan, place is looking really good there! Could you do one showing a little more at the bottom end of the strip? Seems to be a little quieter down that end and less commercial outlets, etc, or at least that’s the impression I’ve gotten from the videos.

Hello Duncan I agree with a lot of what you’ve said. The uk is in free fall at the moment and I also cannot see it changing. We have thought about moving across to Spain as the family already owns a property in Los alcazares. It’s a big step to take as we’d obviously be further away from the kids. I think that’s the only thing that stops me personally from taking the plunge. I’m now aged 59 and retired with a private pension. Think I need to discuss my future with the kids and decide one way or the other. Great video mate cheers
