Hey y'all! I'm Stephanie and have an ever-expanding backyard garden in Middle Tennessee. I've started my channel & Instagram of the same name to document and share my gardening journey. But, first and foremost, I also want to interact with other southern gardeners and learn more about your gardens and your own journey. I've only been in gardening via in ground and raised beds in this climate for a couple of years since 2021. Prior to that I was only able to container patio garden, so I am looking forward to learning and sharing all things garden related with others. My husband I also have a mini golden doodle puppy named Cash, so you will also see his antics as he can be sweet, but also quite the rebel like his namesake Johnny. I hope to post videos and pics every couple of days...so follow along y'all and bless you!

Yep I grew these sweet potatoes from chunky cuts, not slips
Переглядів 9221 день тому
Hey y'all! It’s mid-November and I am digging up some sweet potatoes I planted and started from chunky cuts of sweet potatoes, versus slips. I've had viewers and others say it can't be done, but I am here to prove them wrong for the second season. I always love to experiment and have fun in the garden. I just do my thing, out of the norm or not, and see what happens. I suggest you do the same.....

Hey y'all! It’s October 21st and a great day. Just wanted to share us celebrating Cash’s 2nd birthday. He is our F1B mini golden doodle. He is a gift from God and truly completes our family. He actually kept his hat on for pics. I baked him a doggy cake from Amazon (I Love Pet Cakes .com) and added sweet potato from the garden and peanut butter. The frosting contained yogurt and no sugar, but i...

Hey y'all! I am still harvesting summer tomatoes and cucumbers. I am still getting peppers too. Just praying I can get as much off the plants before our first predicted frost date of Oct. 21st according to Farmers Almanac. Last year was Oct 30th. So we'll see. I am just doing my best to assemble my hoops and frost cloth and watching the weather daily. What are you all doing to prepare? Enjoy, k...

Hi Steph! You have got this hydroponics going on!!! That set up is amazing!!! Great picture quality, too! Let's all keep it going! CK
Thanks Kim! I’m trying! I have to get my window garden going. Thanks for all your tips!
Looks good...I'd use it too 😊😊😊
Thanks so much! I saved and froze ! 😊
I did! Thanks
I had same results, most likely a grocery store. Thought it was a leek
Wow how cool is that we just did our sweet potato harvest yesturday check it out if you get a chance that huge one geeez I wonder what that actually was 😂 you never know what you find 😂
Happy birthday big boy!
Happy birthday 🎊🎂🎉🎁
Thank you
The only thing I would've wanted on my house when we bought it four years ago is a big porch! But I make due and much gratitude with what I have!
Those are huge!
New subscriber 😊❤, I love fresh vegetables ❤
Adorable❤
Thank you! He's a sweetheart!
He gave you that look like “are you crazy? I’m comfy!”
Right! I caught that look, and it was priceless!
Looking really good out there! You have been busy-the garden looks great!! Cash says so much with his eyes!
I know!! I swear if he could talk lol. thank you! Working hard on the cleanup and fall planting
Haha cute!!!!
Huge!!!
Just subbed from Cali Kim.
Welcome! Thanks so much! Hope you enjoy the content
My doddle is the same way! So cute!
Yep, he is so funny. I call him Mr. curious! And then he barks at it because he really wants it! Lol
Cash is a cutie! My old doodle used to do the squirrel thing! I’ve never canned tomatoes like this. I may have to try this next year.
He is so entertaining 😂. I saw another UA-camr can a similar variety this way and seemed so easy so I would try.
@@southernskytngarden it looks very easy! And tasty too! I like the basil idea!
Very nice crop!
Thanks!😊
I bought this and love it but fun fact I could not get it to work with wide mouth 8oz jars....and these are the only wide mouth jars I have so not sure that the wide mouth function works but works flawlessly with regular lid 8oz and 16oz jars.
Sorry to hear that. I don't know if I had any issues with that size. But it's a handy tool for sure!
You are amazing😅 I love it!
Thank you!! Thanks for watching 🤗
They eat all my parsley
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾….‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️💄💋
2 other really good channels are "Acre homestead" and "little mountain ranch". It's where I've learned most of what I know. Lots of ideas and easy to follow.
Thanks for the tips and watching. I love and follow Becky of Acre Homestead
Um, the jar lifter you're using is upside down. The curved end goes around the necks of the jars for lifting.
Oh gosh ok! Thanks for letting me know. I have to pay more attention. When I put them in, I used the lifter correctly then when I took them out, I had it backwards lol 😂Thanks also for helping and watching
Gotta have everything in place! Live the pup!
Thank you! Yes, my golden doodle cash is the star of the channel!
It’s a learning process the more you practice the better you’ll get I do more pressure canning, so I haven’t done water bath yet.
Oh thank you for that encouragement! And thanks for watching. I also want to pressure can someday but I haven't made the investment in buying one yet.
That’s a great idea to shove the fabric down along the side in between the bed and fence. Both you and Cash are doing a great job! And expansion --exciting!!!!
I'm excited to start growing in the new spaces! Thanks so much for always being so encouraging!
I am in your boat, afraid and have all the equipment. What would you use those tomatoes for? Thanks for the video. FYi, you used the handle of the lifter to take the jar out, the rolling thick portion is your hand grip and the other side nestles the jars. I took a class and anytime you take out of boiling water it continues to cook and same with Pressure Canning. Your fine.
I'll probably end up using them for salsa and then also we make a lot of zucchini noodles and pasta so I'll grind them up and use them as pasta sauce also. Thank you so much for watching! Canning is not as intimidating as you think. I was glad I'm finally doing it because I have so many tomatoes to preserve.
Congratulations on your first time canning. I think you will find it easier to get the jars out if you turn your lifter around though. Canning is so fun isn't it :)
Thanks for the tips! I will definitely try that and thanks so much for watching! It was certainly fun!
OK y'all this was my first water bath can experience so it was fun but very funny at the same time! Hope you enjoy.
Salam kenal jawan dan salam satu hobby, happy gardening. Friend
Thanks for watching. Please subscribe 😊
Wow, so much happening! This is fun, Steph. Great documentation! Thanks so much for taking us all along!
They look delicious! 🥰🤗💖
They are! Thanks 😊
Just in case you haven’t found out yet, the monster is perfectly good to eat. In the Philippines, they often grow to this size. It shows it had good soil and plenty of water. Congratulations.
Thanks for the info and watching.
Hey - i'm from TN too and I grow Hydroponics :)

Thank you so much! We've been wanting to try this for a long time so finally doing it. So far going good! Thanks for your support always!
Awesome!
Cash is so precious! Also, that salad looks so delicious! And so healthy!!!!
Thank you!
Could you share the process of saving seeds? What must you do after collecting?
What do you use for pest control and is it organic? I’ve had a tough year because of lack of rain, then too much. Then bugs. Yours look beautiful.
Gotta love that backyard grocery store!
For sure 😊
New sub here. Watching you know on CaliKim home and garden live video. Love your garden. Looks pretty and fun!
Thanks for subbing! I love CK and grateful to be on the live.
I understand. Some varieties are very tough. Such as beefsteaks for me. Can't seem to get them going. Smaller varieties have been very easy to grow and even just volunteer from previous years
