The Coaches’ Roundtable Hosted By: Dr. Ken Ravizza, Featuring: Dave Snow, John Savage & Steve Rousey
Not long before Dr. Ken Ravizza’s passing, he had the opportunity to sit down and have a roundtable discussion about all things baseball and the mental game at his home with three of his closest college baseball coaching colleagues and friends…
Dave Snow (long-time former head coach of Long Beach State), John Savage (head coach at UCLA), and Steve Rousey (former pitching coach at Fresno State and Cal State Fullerton).
Ken was so grateful to be able to share this time together, as he worked very closely with these 3 coaches throughout their careers. Their commitment to teaching the Mental Game and trusting Ken with working with their programs was vital to the success and adaptation of the Mental Game in baseball.
Now, made available to the public for the first time ever, you can watch the full interview series...

" Call Dave Concepcion! He's always in a slump. I know nothing about them." ----Pete Rose to his son about his minor league slump.

As a kid nerves were crippling. Then it became adrenaline which helped me in the Army before fights. General Patton said he was always short of breath before battle.

Dealing with abuse from fans and practicing and playing against older Players taught me how to learn from failure, be tougher physically and mentally.

A study found out the greatest athletes naturally visualized success before the game started. This is taught now.

I’ve got to be honest, breathing has never helped me pacify anxiety. I’ve tried it since I was a kid in sports, I’ve tried it in meditation, tried it in military, big speeches, etc. I could go jog a mile and still feel that anxiousness. To me, it’s just best I think about the task at hand and try to figure out how to win the moment. Envisioning helps

Just starting this spring (hopefully if COVID holds off). This was incredible encouragement from one of my role models during my playing time. RIP coach, we miss you.
