This is absolutely beautiful! I've always thought the Lotus designs were lacking big time. Sorta from the Hot Wheels School of Design . Who ever brought this drawing to the table is a genius! BRAVO!

This all looks like pre-production test analysis- hence the lady with the clip board noting movements / things that can be tweaked in a Time & Motion study. Yes, there is definitely an air of “not sure what I’m doing here Trevor” about the blokes on the line.

You have done a wonderful job once again (sad that for more comfort there is more weight...and so a USP has been lost) but you must undercut your Stuttgart friends by a significant margin even if you think you may have produced a match. Just one example: the packaging is once again compromised for touring. A hot sink at the back and an exposed opening behind the seats is not good enough. The engine layout is almost on its own responsible for all drawbacks. Lotus has failed to grasp this matter (pricing) till today and the numbers have shown...I just so wish you would find a way to do it to finally see numbers doing Lotus and its cars justice. Yes you may end selling a lot...SUVs that have nothing to do with Lotus strands for. Secretly I wish that instead of having grabbed the Merc blown 4 pot you had chosen the 2.4 four boxer from Subaru with a manual box! Packaging, layout, lower weight, lower centre of gravity, 3 pedals, better box...a dream with less power true but much more Lotus like.

I have an Emira on order - current expected delivery Q2 2023 (hopefully). I live at 7200' elevation in the US. What would be my expected power (torque) loss for the V6?

I’m in high school, and I haven’t yet had the chance to learn how to drive manual yet nor have I had the chance to see what it’s like actually driving a sports car, but man do I want one of these. Such a beautiful car.

Hand-built again? I believe Lotus proves Britain's quality history and engineering in motorsports. No offence, but modern Brits' laziness and low-quality work (some might call it a stereotype, but let's be honest. They are.) unfortunately come with it. Anybody who ever owned Lotus would agree. No more 'Lotus isn't for everyone" bullshit, please. I love Lotus. I'm a huge fan. But, I've suffered enough with my Lotus. If you are going to fool around your beloved fans again with the same old tricks, you might as well just shut down the business and become history.

The workers don’t give the impression like they know what they are doing. Not a well-oiled machine to say the least. I think I will wait to order my Emira until it is.

When you look at the 4 cylinder Porsche Cayman/ Boxter compared to their V6 counterparts they depreciate massively in value because subjectively they don't sound as good as a V6. What I found shocking was that the 4 cylinder Emira versions will have a different cheaper rear metal suspension, due to weight difference perhaps. Also the i4 motor will have a plastic cover so you cant see it as well as the V6 through the glass. The tuning can also be done also to the V6 both are great engines, and the DCT has a better reputation. Meanwhile its just a waiting game since the V6 will arrive first anyway.

All "First Edition" models will have the Clinton-era Toyota V6 - _yeah, it's really that old!_ Me? I'm waiting for the AMG 2.0 Twin Turbo I-4 that can be safely tuned to 400hp/400lb-tq with better MPGs. 😎

And they freaking crushed it. The new Emira is an iconic vehicle. Stunningly beautiful. Small and nimble, yet room for luggage. Hopefully they will expand their color options though. They should have a black option, white, a true red (Magma Red is more orange), and perhaps a silver. Their existing choices are quite nice though.
