As along the years I've played in tactical team games, some of them as my team leader even, I've a much better vision and game sense than the average player at my rank. So if being where I am is mostly due to my lacking in car control, especially regarding precision and consistency. To fix that I'd need to address these issues through dedicated practice, but as that kind of activities aren't very funny or entertaining I struggle big time to keep doing them for more than a couple days.

what i find so annoying is how i lose 5 games in a row then win 1 to lose 5 again and the rocket league system will not realise that the rank they put me against is to high? im just not deranking while i lose most of my games

From what I have seen in RL. Is that, NA players focus more on mechanics and EU more on gamesense. Ofcouse there's outliers on each server, but that is just my observation. And therefore I think EU players are on average just a bit better than NA. This is my humble opinion, feel free to dispute it

If you want to be the best then yes the basics are there. But tell me how much joy are you really getting out of rolling and flicking the ball into the net the same way thousands of times. I mean sure you can enjoy a game for it's basics though if I advance my way to champ I want to see the exploitation you've pushed yourself to enjoy in the game not how well you can place a shot. Truly play the game at a lower level if you just want to position. Think of it like watching an recs where not one person jumps, nobody would watch that shit cause it'd be boring as hell. Don't get me wrong going to a higher rank feels nice but if you're going to go higher then keep in mind if you are actually an enjoyable player or not ya know

The very big thing is simple "making useful touches" and the struggle with that in like plat is that your car control kinda sucks as well as path prediction etc. Like one doesn't have to know to flip reset but being able to do something with your car in an awkward position is a huge difference

There’s knowing how to play the game and then there’s knowing what to do

i peaked c1 after 500 hours and 200 hours later, c2. i can't even do a basic aerial dribble or a flip reset. none of that. heck, to this day i even still play with default camera settings lol. but i do have the fundamentals as i used to play semi-pro football as a young teenager. positioning, gamesense, speed, reaction timing, pressing, defending, clearing, ball control, dribbling, faking, passing, creating goal opportunities, predicting your opponents next move, being consistent at kickoffs, 50's and everything i've mentioned up there... these elements are ESSENTIAL to become better at the game. i know some players who needed 2000 to 4000 hours to reach c1, like for real. they can aerial and stuff, but they ain't consistent and losing the ball too often which gives opponents free 2v1 situations or even open nets. which is quite dumb tbh. game sense is the key. play smarter, not harder.

Top 100 player with no mention of 50/50s - either how, why and when to take them. Players below gc1 have no idea about them bar knowing what a 50/50 is as they will just smack the ball back and forth instead of trying to purposely lose a 50 for example. It’s ridiculous how no one talks about them but goes on about the same things we hear on every video. Rotation, consistency etc. 50s are one of the most important things you need to understand to reach the highest levels. Good video nonetheless but I would have liked you to touch on this
