Elevate Christian Disability Trust (formally Christian Ministry with the Disabled Trust) is a charitable organisation that has worked for over 40 years to support, encourage, educate and equip both people with disabilities and churches in NZ. We are interdenominational and work with people with any type of disability.
Our National support office is based at 173 Mt Smart Rd, Onehunga, Auckland. We have many branches and ministries around NZ and overseas.

Is it a blessing to be around families and friends? I believe it is such a blessing. I cannot live without them. I can, but living without family and friends would be so challenging, regardless of my disabilities.

What came to my mind when I thought about connecting with others was my men's group, my recovery group, and my Church, and each of these groups have played a positive impact on loving myself over time.

"We have a popular discourse that increasingly demeans and devalues those who, because of life's misfortunes, find themselves dependant on a welfare payment. But the injustice should not be overlooked just because it was difficult or inconvenient." It no longer prevents poverty, it creates and entrenches it. The idea of full participation and belonging for all is a pipe dream.'
