Lol, now I gotta wonder though, do they ever call each other by their first names? It seems like they always call each other but their full names which, idk, maybe it's different in China but it feels kind of weird hearing as someone from the U.S. Like, I never call my friend by her full name, always just her first name. Though I kinda get Cheng Xiaoshi calling Lu Guang by his full name since it'd sound kind of strange it he just called him "Guang" imo. Besides that Lu Guang is short, but I wonder why Lu Guang doesn't just call him "Xiaoshi" unless he does at one point and I forgot/missed it?
Yes, in China people usually call others by their full names, especially because of how common certain surnames are. You wouldn't usually call someone by a one character name like '光', just because Chinese as a language rarely uses single syllables. Though close friends and family usually have nicknames for one another, so I'm surprised these two, as roommates, don't. (Though Qiao Ling does call Lu Guang "光光” at one point which is a kinda cutesy name that works since she's two years older.)

Lol, are you talking about when she called him GuangGuang and Cheng Xiaoshi made fun of him? 😂Hmm, yeah, it is odd though they don't have nicknames for each other in that case. I kind of get Lu Guang not using a nickname since he seems overall rather serious and generally detached but you'd think Cheng Xiaoshi would have come up with something for Lu Guang? Unless he tried and Lu Guang told him to stop and just call him by his full name lol.

I just randomly found this and it gives me tears. I grew up with Gravity Falls and rewatched it many times. It's the best cartoon I ever watched. I was 5-10 or something. Hearing this song gives me tears. Now I am older and studying IT. I never forget this series. Never will and if I have kids then I will show them gravity falls. Gravity Falls is a cartoon that we all love. The series might be over but the fanbase is strong.

I'm curious, is it a Chinese thing to say someone's full name?
Short answer: Yes. Especially since Lu Guang's name is only two characters, and Cheng Xiaoshi's first name "Xiaoshi" is already endearing on its own. Long answer: so for Chinese people it's weird to call others with only one character like "Cheng" or "Lu". On almost no cases would we address someone with only one character. It's a super super super endearing way to address someone to the level of cringe. Especially especially if said single character is part of the person's first name. It's almost like saying "honey" or "babe" in a "I mean it" way. You COULD, however, address someone with only one character, in a way like said character is the person's code name, like calling someone "L". Which would also be super cringe. Either way, it gives a "I'm in a TV drama" kinda vibe. So there ARE normal endearing ways to call your friends not by their full name. But dudes being bros usually just call their friends by full name because it's easy. They could also use nicknames; or "老(meaning old) + a character in the person's name usually the family name"; or "a character in the person's name + 哥 (meaning bro)"; or "小(pronounced ✨Xiao✨)(meaning young) + a character in the person's name"; or "阿(no actual meaning at all) + a character in the person's name"; or "a character in the person's name but say it twice"; or "a character in the person's name + 儿 (could have no actual meaning but could also mean child)" Those all have different level of either endearing or respect, but main purpose is to not call someone by only one character. Cheng Xiaoshi's name has ✨xiao✨ which in of itself is an endearing but less respected way to call someone. So if his name is something like "Cheng Shifen", Lu Guang would call him Shifen which is two characters and not his full name and not too close that you would mistake them as brothers or gay, and it wouldn't be cringe. Apologies, I wrote all that with a sleep deprived brain so it might make no sense at all. Despite all I said, I myself am a living weido that call most of my friends and family with only one character of their name. But I'm also a weeb who is not a dude, so...😜

I watch the show a month ago,it was great but i almost just let go of it just like any other show(this was the first show that i actively want to stayed) but there just one special character that kept me still here and most people probally only focus on his funny side but i focus more on his sad,emotional side. He basically the glue if the whole show yes im talking about.................Stanley ,i care so much for him like a real person and my god does it make me want to read fanfic.(although most of them are sad and depressing)
