Let's start by stopping people like JB Landscaping who have just been filmed illegally taken down trees during nesting season. They were homes to many protected birds. Why don't all councils have immediate action plans to respond to deliberate law breaking acts of devastation to nature like this? ua-cam.com/users/shortsSQEzeESIUcE?si=vIb7yyqHXcmqBZ6x

We in Burnhope village Co. Durham are fighting hard to save all sorts of wildlife from being destroyed due to local farmers attracting multi billion pound companies (BP) to rent their land to cover it in glass...not a greenhouse to grow food but a Solar Farm. This will eliminate feeding and nesting grounds of many red listed birds for example but the council ignore it. The said local council have unlawfully approved the plans but we residents took them to court and got it quashed (for now). The fight will continue to the bitter end!

We achieve this, not just through UK, but also China, US, and the whole world! Allow me quote from ancient Chinese Doaism: "The universal rule follows nature, humanity and heaven shall become one (道法自然,天人合一)." In Daoism, heaven also refers to nature. Then, let us make our society, ourselves become a part of nature and heaven again!

We will not see change and we will still be hungry if farmers aren’t acknowledged as being part of the solution. They should be well funded, incentivised and supported throughout what is an extremely challenging period not just for nature but more importantly for them as stewards of our beloved UK landscape. We also need to be extremely cautious about our choice of language and messaging. Not only are we losing nature we certainly can’t afford to lose our food producers. Best wishes, Tony.

I am 56 years old, and my dad is 77 years old, and we talk a lot about nature when we were children. I remember there were many meadows and fields where I live which were filled with life. On a hot summer day as a kid I used to go to the meadows where we would lay in the tall grass and listen to all the wildlife. The warm breeze would carry the scent of all the wild flowers which were in full bloom. Back then bees used to fight over a flower as there were so many bees and varieties but today the flowers fight over the dwindling bees. We used to watch the many different types of bird of prey hovering above, looking for a small rodent for lunch. Kestrels, sparrowhawks, merlins... We could always hear the light chirps of the skylarks hovering high in the sky, the sounds of the finches which were abundant then. The various different types of sparrow were never far, those were always chirping loudly. We used to see many vole, field mice, water vole, lizards, slowworms, grass snakes, adders all busy doing their own thing. The sound grasshoppers were everywhere with various different colourful butterflies all feeding on the many wild flowers. We could always hear woodpeckers in the distant coming from the deep woods, tapping to attract a mate. Cuckoos were pretty common and could always be heard from time to time. The amount of different birds back then were amazing, they were everywhere and in great numbers. At night, the sound of crickets were deafening, it was beautiful. The hedgerows were lit up with fireflies like burning embers from a bonfire, they were everywhere. It was like a wonderland in which you'd never want to come back from. Sadly, developers moved in the began ripping it all up like it was some dirty old carpet then replaced it with horrible housing estates, roads and office buildings. Now there are no meadows, no fields or woodlands at all, it is all just a memory of what once was. The adders, slowworms, voles, lizards and other critters have all gone. There is nothing left, no evidence that the paradise I once knew ever existed. Some of those species I once used to see frequently are now extinct, nobody ever again will ever get to see them, nobody. Once they have gone extinct, they have 'Gone!'. The children of today and tomorrow have been robbed by developers in the name of progress, I just hope the children of today and tomorrow will some day put an end to this over development and try to save what is left of the wildlife before it is too late. Listen and listen good, it is all disappearing for ever faster than you realize. I wish you could have seen what I have seen, know what I knew and experience what my generation experienced.

The fact this doesn't have 7.88 billion views is depressing. Everyone on earth should realise by now, we are natural, nature is all we have. Eco anxiety is a completely rational response, anyone not worried about nature needs some serious help weather they like it or not, we are nothing without the natural world. It'll recover once we're gone anyway

I feel this, and the film is so inspiring. Also, want to share some of my culture's understanding towards nature and civilization: In traditional Chinese culture, especially in Daoism, people are supposed to live in harmony with nature. In ancient China, people believed that the natural world is created by gods, and manged by them. And so, gods set rules for people to follow. People shall pray and be thankful to anything they take from nature, from rain and water, to each rice grain, to woods and preys. There is also an idealistic situation proposed by Daoism, written as "天人合一", means "heaven and humanity as one". And more speciafically, "天" means both heaven and nature in Chinese, including the nature of humanity. So, according to it, the ways of nature are the ways of heaven. And to become one with heaven, to be truly human, people shall live in harmony with nature. We may take, and even change nature around, but should never cause destruction of it. This is how we should treate nature as our origin and home. Also in Daosim, power and virtue are proposed as two opposite sides exist as one. We require power, like knowledge, strength, and materials to progress, while virtue shall give us the right direction. When our achievement reaches climax, power and virtue are likely to have conflicts with each other if we go further. And at such time, it is said that we should stop a bit before we are ready, because if we want to achieve more without being ready, we will achieve nothing but fall-down and regret. And, to me, this describes what we need to do now, as for many huge coountries, including China, it is likely to be the time to slow down economy development, and focus more on sustainability.
