    This was 1992. I was in Amygdala, one of the opening bands. We were pretty good friends with Unwound at the time and we played with them in Olympia the summer of 1991 so we invited them down to Burlingame to play when they came down to the Bay Area. The parking lot was part of my keyboardist's family's print shop located in the industrial area of the city. Wish we'd had more shows there back then. It was a ghost town on the weekends.

    Not sure how I haven’t seen this before today. I’ve been obsessed w the 7” and Honeywell split since I found them in the 90’s. This is exactly how I have pictured them all this time. Thanks.

    Thank you so, so much for posting this. Reach Out was the very first punk band I ever saw live. If it wasn't this very show it was one much like it, and the experience was life-changing for me. I don't even remember how I ended up there, but it definitely wasn't because I'd heard of the band. I was 15 or so, the most hardcore thing I knew was Metallica, and when this nerdy kid I was pretty sure was even less cool than me walked up and took the mic, I rolled my eyes. He didn't even have, like, a mohawk or whatever punks were supposed to have. Then the first song hits, he leaps into the air, lands on his back, kicks the mic out of the bass drum, and writhes around screaming his damn head off to the most intense music I had ever heard. Reach Out blew. my. damn. mind. (and taught me a lesson I remember to this day about judging people by their looks). Gilman Street and the Berkeley punk scene became a huge part of my adolescence, and it all started there. Finding this video really made my night.

      @certone 6 років тому

      Brad Smith Right on! Reach Out were amazing and all the bands that came after. It was such a great time to be into local punk/hardcore. Did you grow up in HMB?

      @@certone Nope, about an hour away, North of SF. Pretty sure the show I saw was in my area, but can't for the life of me remember where exactly. Hell, now I think about it, maybe it was my first time at Gilman. Good times, in any case. :)

    This is Josh Ovalteen from Honeywell: LOL! Wanna hear a funny story. I grew up in home gardens and I was neighbors with Stacey the bass player from reach out. She ended up moving up to the bay area and like a year later Steve Shamada decided to do a split with honeywell and reachout. I had no idea that Stacey was even in the band untill like 20 years later when a friend Nathan Hernandez kept bringing her name up. Ironicly my band at the the time called puppynecklace & the 91yr. Old porpoise played a show with stacey's new band at Angel's in Corona which is a block away from where stacey and I grew up. So all those years and I did not know I did a split with my neighbor lol. The trippy thing is I would have never expected her to be playing in a hardcore band. What a small world. I would love to get in touch with her again if anyone knows how to get a hold of her. email me at wermfish@gmail.com.....and by the way my band ringwerm is keeping hardcore alive we even do several old honeywell songs we have a new album coming out in August.
