Nice light ! I have the shorter one like that from Nitecore and many batteries and chargers .All super great ! The pen light I have is 1 -14500 3.7V AA battery . I like the shorter one being it fits in pocket better .

Nice reviews Jason. Coming over from 2.0, I've been looking for padded pouches for a lightweight portable KX2 kit, with the radio, rigrunner and solar charge controller. I'd be good with a single pouch for the three, or three individual pouches. Any recommendations?

any durable lighter recommendations? I've got a solid ferro rod for the first time that cast way more sparks than anything I've had before - but want something that's modern, and solid. All my butane lighters (gas stations & smoke shops) crap out after a few months or a year. Even after cleaning, emptying of butane, & refilling. Also, any small radios that are rechargeable. Looking for gear that's both EDC and survival, waterproof, dustproof, to stay warm and connected if there's a bad storm or other situation. I got the Olight since I've wanted it for so long and will prob pick up the roll-up case to keep my gear from scratching electronics. I already have the best-selling blukar $8-10 1,000 lumen one (only cheap part is the head to make smaller flood/circle is kinda loose) - plus a magnetic carabiner LED light with a cigarette lighter on back, weirdly enough. So also any winter tents, durable gloves that are ideally machine washable, etc. I'd appreciate advice on from folks that are well researched/experienced. Already got a poncho that can be used as a tarp for shelter. But stuff like that. also at 8:20 I noticed every once in a while the products don't have right labels, like it says for Warsun flashlight that it's battery powered, and you said USB rechargeable

The ThruNite T1S is a great flashlight-small, bright, and the magnetic base comes in handy. I’ve had one for a few years and it’s served me well.

As an owner and user of the Switchblade pack, I went ahead and purchased the Apprentice pack from the Black Friday sale for $39. Can’t go wrong at that price point.

For 30-40 bucks, it's a good deal. Bugout kits are like cameras, the best one is the one you have easy access to.

As I watch various vids on survival kits the number 1 mantra is always "It's better than nothing...".

Great stuff. Flashlights are always a must have. Love that USB C battery. I got a 9V like that.

Have something like hard candy for a little energy. I am a diabetic, so I always carry peppermints.

The green thing “floater” along with the other colors are pens you will pull them apart at each end to use. They are listed as POP - Pop Out Pen by Acme Tek on the sight.

If you have time and resources, take a first-aid course. Learn the basics and continually add to your knowledge.

Gloves - They quit putting Latex gloves in First Aid Kits, due mainly because of the fact that the user or the patient might have allergies to the latex. All other gloves are one-time session use only... that's for Nitryl gloves, etc. The reason is for one-time use is to prevent cross-contamination between patients. My thought is that a "good" first aid kit should have at least 2 pair of gloves in it.

I've had one for years, great bag holds a lot.

My first aid bags each have emergency blankets, gauze, gloves (that fit my XXL hands), and boo-boo kits. I have a couple in my car, a couple more in key spots in the house, and a small trauma kit in my pocket stuff. I don't want to wear a "Bat-Belt," so I keep my EDC stuff to a minimum of sorts. I have a couple of emergency bags in key places (in the garage, for example, so that I can grab it on my way out the door if I REALLY need to bug out instead of bugging in) that have a few days' worth of food and water.

If you're upgrading everything, why even buy the kit? Please don't buy these junk kits, the items are mostly junk and won't last for anything real. Just spend the money and make yourself a good kit from the start, and stay away from all the gadgets and gizmos because they're a waste too. Only use items that you must have and very, very little of "I might need this if".

Make sure you pack for the common emergencies: Ibuprofen, Loperamide, Hydrocortisone, etc. Have some decent trauma shears in your kit.

Maybe if you can find them, water purification tablets if you can still find them. A collapsible cup or water storage bag. Fire is important but water has a much higher level of importance. IMHO. 73 and take care.

It has bandages for knuckles. One of the hardest places for a bandage to stick.
