Situated in the Pir Panchal range of western Himalayas in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Gulmarg is among the premier all season hill resorts of India.
Gulmarg is the "heartland of winter sports of India" Winter sports like Alpine skiing, Ice- Skating, Tobogganing, Ice-Hockey, Snow Boarding and Heli-skiing.
Skiing is done downwards on the slopes pf Mount Apharwat ( 4,267m/ 13,999ft) which is reachable by a Cable Car (Gondola).

Gulmarg Backcountry Skiing #Shark Fin
Located on backside of Mount #Apharwat, it will take you 30-45 minutes to hike up from 2nd phase of #gondola. The main chute from the top of Shark Fin is between 50 - 65 degrees steep.
