I'm so glad you're persevering with the little Focus! It deserves a bit of love with all its been through. Being an owner of its successor, the MK2, a lot of it is very much the same (suspension included) and I can tell you from experience that whilst repairs might look daunting (especially that rust), fortunately parts are cheap and plentiful and generally fairly easy to replace. Those rear lower control arms will definitely need doing within the next 2 years at most. They're pretty straightforward but if the bolts securing them to the rear subframe are anything like the MK2s, be prepared to cut them out should you go down that route of renewing them. Hell if y'all were closer to me I'd offer to come help fix it for free if it guaranteed it a few more years out of the scrapper 😁

I've just reolaced the rear subframe on my ST. Its not a bad job to do but it will be worth it when its got a tight rear end again

Nice content. Remembering my 2002 Focus Estate/ Turnier/ Wagon, saved it, it got some nice lowering springs, Bilstein shocks, a lot of TLC and then the new owner bought it, lost the keys and scrapped it....... KEEP this one ALIVE, pls?

Hi mate I don't know if it's to any interest to you but I have focus millennium original alloys with centre caps. I also have a gear selector bush and a yellow front bumper with fogs and lower grill if you fancy a road trip to south wales you can have the wheels and bumper all for £50

I wondered why it sounded so raspy last time I saw it.... learning the exhaust wasnt sealed makes a lot of sense xD Crossing my fingers the subframe rust isnt terminal and the banana focus can keep on trucking!

I have an '02 2.0 Ghia that has a fully rebuild back end [ new 'Banjos, 'Dogbones' OK though ] and -30mm EIbach springs. Brand new front bottom arms, new standard strut with -30mm EIbach springs... *No O/S or N/S sill outer....* *Traction control/ABS fault...* In short, my legs and front arms and rear subframe with all the new stuffs... Cambridgeshire any good? [ has enough to do with his 96 850 T5 wagon ;-) ]
