Python link unravels leap frogging
This Application video summarizes the results presented during the European Fluid Dynamics Conference held in Aachen September 2024.
Pietro Sperotto, David Hess and Gökhan Ergin presented their findings on three leapfrogging vortex rings, measured with a 4-camera system using Tomographic 3D PTV and Physics Informed Interpolation to analyze the dynamics of the vortex rings interaction. The Python link for DynamicStudio proved very valuable for generating further datasets by separating the vortex rings, visualizations and plots of the dynamics.

- Illumination: Volume LED array
- Nozzle diameter: 50mm
- Measurement volume: ~ 205 x125x110 mm³
- Seeding density ~ 0.04ppp
- Max. velocity: 0.38m/s

- Software: DynamicStudio 8.4 using the Python link

      Hi Rding We used/use the standard EduPIV pump in pulse mode. The tubing grades down from the pump outlet to the aorta inlet diameter.

    Something what I think could fix this problem is a Formula 1 on back wing's DRS When the car go backwards, because the air pressure open the "DRS", and maybe can keep the car on the ground

    hey. i use the raspberry pi hq cam with an fisheye lens for imaging clouds in the sky. my mission is to calibrate as accurate as possible the lens distortion caused by the fisheye. while using the checkerboard method (zhang), the distance would be way shorter (~m ), but the clouds are usually about 2000-8000m in height. how can I calibrate the distortion? You guess you guys are the only ones, who are able to come up with an ingenious solution. friendly greets from dresden germany

    COT is just one example of the American credo: "More is (always) better". Well, I hate to tell you but "more" Is NOT Always "better". NASCAR started with "stock cars" that could be bought from any new car dealer. Sure, you need to modify them for safety, but if that's not good enough then do something to slow the cars down, for instance, by limiting the size of the engine. However, it's a joke to call COT cars "stock cars" in any way. And the punch line of that joke is every NASCAR fan. ... jkulik919@gmail.com

      @@earth7440 That's not true at all. The cars weren't strickly stock in the 50s either, when the used truck rear axles, and have been purpose built with parts of stock sheet metal since the mid to late 60s.
