Velvet Elk

Arizona has opened up a Summer Elk opportunity. What a rare opportunity to chase velvet bulls!!! My goal on this what was to take a mature bull and get all meat home without any waste! Well, over 250 lbs came home to Iowa and Deer Labs confirmed the bull was 6.5 yrs old!

What’s better in your opinion the half out inserts, or the collars?
I think I like the half inserts better. Smoother fit.
@@PRIMALDIVIDE got ya, I was planning on ordering some today. Thanks for your input.
Nice shot!
homecoming king

Always!!
First :)
Always
Cedars …..lol😂
What plate carrier were you using?
5.11 TAC tec
why do have yall have different weights on the clean and overhead press portion?
Diff divisions. More weight, harder division.
Nice hunts! 🎥
Fire up the grill! Good episode 👊
First :)
Are the RotoPacks attached to the inside of the truck? How so?
Attached to the sidebars of the Yakima rack.
Just saw this truck at kittanning, pa walmart
Yess!!! Gathering some for for a Tactical Games event.
I hope that makes up for ur tiny Dick!
Awesome brother! Keep on grinding!!!!
Cool show. Can you give a rundown of your layering for that type weather? I see the Fanatic Jacket and bibs and incinerator gloves but interested in layering. TIA
Two trips there & both were similar layering…. Two merino base layers, two merino base layer socks. Upper body I threw on a vest (Sitka stratus or UA Alpine) Sitka fanatic outer one year, Under Armour Revenant the next year. Both are goretex infinium, both performed the same. While sitting for long periods.. I highly recommend boot covers! Throw a hot hands in there, zip em up, good to go!
@@PRIMALDIVIDE cool. Thanks
If he started training at an early age. At 46 he's still in his prime strength years. Typically 35 to 45 years of age. So nothing out of the ordinary for experienced trainers here.
He is me…. Lol. Still feeling strong!
nice job
Thanks!
How do you like that 511 tactec carrier? I’m thinking about getting one. I currently run a Shellback and a Point Blank.
Sturdy. And held up well. Great for training. Might run i again. Although guys are running these super thin units with sand.
What is the khaki bomber jacket you are wearing?
It’s a jacket from Leupold Optics
Assuming good marksmanship and gun handling skills are in place, would you say that lowest body weight possible not compromising strength plus strong cardiovascular endurance are top training objectives?
That would be my suggestion…. I was told it was strong man meets 3 gun…. Not so much. Strong man isn’t a 5k 😂. Def need strength but CrossFit is more suited to this by far!!!!
This is awesome, how far was that run on the “go ruck yourself” stage?
Ehhhh. Prob 100 yds each leg.
Enjoy your youth as long as possible. When you get my age this activity just ain't happening.
At 45….. clock is ticking.
I have been saying that for years. You are the only one I have ever heard say it as well. "Be better today than you were yesterday." That is the only person I am competing against, Yesterdays me.
That’s all you can do!
Love the effort throughout the 2 days
Thank you! Def a learning experience, ready to do another!
Great music rap with the blues wow that’s different 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Gotta mix it up somehow! Lol
The real men and women are in the Master's division. Everyone else is just doing fit young people stuff. What's that saying, "Beware the old man in a world where men die young." My first suggestion is to not bother with a high speed, untested, unreliable rifle. With proper training and stress testing, there should be nothing new to learn about your gear on game day. The more you sweat in training, the less you'll duck at the TTG. My last suggestion is that you should research the particular TTG you plan to participate in and train according to what they typically have available based on previous events. Some places don't have any rope climbs. One place (GTI) has 8 story industrial buildings (two sets of stairs PER floor) and high safety ladders you'll navigate by yourself. The worst thing about the TTG is not competing in one. Good luck!
Amazing footage! What camera is being used to film?
Thank you! Sony a74
I’ve been shooting that Ryz all summer and loving it, but I just got my buddy’s rx7 and found out you have to buy a whole new frame to mount the sight to the pic rail. You’re better off buying a whole new sight!
Hey John great video. I was in the squad ahead of you at Iowa. My name is Kris Kline. You can keep your 50 yard zero if you want but the easy button is to dial in your dope on your turret ahead of time. All the distances at Iowa were easy to range and that takes any guesswork out of getting your optic set for each event. Hope to see you out there next year. I’m already registered.
Not a bad idea! Just wish I didn’t have gas block issues both days!
Thats some tough hunting! Glad you pulled it off. 👏
Thank you!! That elevation def changes things.
100 yard zero is the best because you only have to remember holdovers. Much easier, especially when under stress.
Still playing with what works for me. 50/200 for the current set up. But first, I need my AR to not double feed and jam.
i need some colorado in my life
Let’s plan something. Anywhere, somewhere!!
Sweet video man, Colorado looks sick 🤘
Thanks!!! It’s def a different hunt!!
Saw your truck going into cincinnati and realized ive heard of you before little be hold your in my state (ohio) driving down 275 into/ thru Cincinnati!!!! Idk if this was actually you but ive never hunted before and am itching to go
Yea man!! Just leaving. Was helping a friend out in Ohio. She got her first archery deer!! Headed back to iowa.
@@PRIMALDIVIDE hell yea lmk if you come back here maybe you could help me out !!!
Shop set up is awesome, I’m sure allowing customers to see the bow setup process creates a great relationship, I wish local pro shops in my area had that
It’s really awesome!!!
Nice work!
Struggled for several reasons but the point was to experience it and know what I need to train next. Thanks!
I had a very similar experience at my first TTG a couple weeks ago. But I went in with the same mindset.. just to break the ice, experience and learn through getting my butt kicked. We're just not able to learn as much by simply watching footage of someone else's experience. Experience itself is the best teacher. Now back to the drawing board. I cant wait for this next season 💪🏾
Absolutely!!!!!!!!
So this was guided on native land I take it?
Yes
What pants are those?
Raider lite by under Armour
@@PRIMALDIVIDE Nothing like buying gear that's been tested by someone who "gets after it." Thx!
Absolutely 👍🏻
that under armor camo in the mother land looks 🤑🤑🤑
Yesssir!!!
1st one! BOOM! Best of luck this fall brother!!!
Boooooom!
im exhausted from watching this
I get a cramp when I think of it
That looks insane! Yikes.
Not for the faint…. But, I will do another. Lol
Awesome process, I wish you the best of luck this season!
Just got the 31 about a month ago. My cam is leaning right pretty hard and limb deflection is very obviously uneven. Did you notice anything like this ? If so what was your solution.
Cam lean is a thing for sure, but an authorized Hoyt dealer / shop can even and shim that up for you.
@@PRIMALDIVIDE not having any luck with that.
Where are you located? City?
@@PRIMALDIVIDE near troy , mo.
They are GOING to lean They have to it’s a compound bow with a binary control cable system
