Experimenting with the Max4Live Chiral synth and the Euclidean Sequencer. Trying to create a space vibe so using Carl Sagan's talk about Flat Land seemed to be an obvious choice. Experimenting with glitchy sounds makes this slightly wayward, but that's all part of the learning process. Other sounds recorded using the Tascam DR05X.

Produced April / May 2023 in Shanghai, China using Ableton Live 11, Cableguys Shaperbox. Most sounds recorded using the Tascam DR05X, except the wolves, bats and some of the thunder (some of which was taken from Freetousesounds). Voice samples taken from the 1931 film 'Dracula' starring Bela Lugosi. Richard Burton's opening few words from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds also used.

Final tune for my forthcoming EP entitled 'The Monkey's Banker.' All sounds made by myself (no presets) apart from the choir (Spitfire Audio) and Marlon Brando's voice samples from the Krypton segment of Superman The Movie. Background foley recorded using the Tascam DR-05X and the X8. This was an experiment in mixing the Minor scale and the Phrygian mode as well as getting to grips with Ableton...

Inspired by the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which I found to be pretty mesmerizing despite not really having much of an opinion with regards to the monarchy. The whole procession was captivating, obviously sad too, however watching it I definitely was excited about the music and the sounds of the day. This is my first song in which I have not relied on presets, and have created my own sounds...

    Manga reader/collector here.... If you enjoyed Buddha you will likely enjoy other Tezuka works, though a few are starting to go out of print now and becoming difficult to find at a fair price. Definitely pick up some more volumes of Berserk, I don't know if you have read any of what you have thus far but the first few volumes I experienced I wasn't totally sold on it and while intrigued by its dark setting and themes, was quite confused as to what was actually going on. If you find the same to be true press on.... because my god does it get good quite soon after , as you get further into the series and the character development really starts to take shape. I think you will end up agreeing like most do, that its an absolute masterpiece within this medium of story telling. Anything by Naoki Urasawa is worth checking out , Monster, Pluto, 20th Century boys... A few other personal favorites of mine - Vinland Saga, Vagabond, Hunter X hunter, Goodnight pun pun, blade of the immortal... there is so many I could recommend you, but without knowing your tastes, hard to say what would most appeal to you. Hope to see more videos from you sharing your journey into the wonderful world of manga!

I have bought all the Berserk Omni's so far, but will hold fire until I receive my Vol 5 as I like to have a fair amount to read in one go. • @anab0lic
      @anab0lic 4 роки тому

      @@stuartleighton I am the same, I like to build up a large chunk of reading for a series, otherwise if there is too big a break between volumes I can start to forget exactly what was going on where I last left off.... or if I'm enjoying it a lot,get frustrated that there is a huge wait before I can continue! Barefoot gen I have collected and read up to volume 4, want the rest of it but as you say the volumes are quite pricey, especially the hardcover editions I chose to collect them in. Underrated series imo, I don't see that many people talk about it, perhaps due to its dated artstyle.... which i personally think fits its historic nature.

    • @stuartleighton
      @stuartleighton 4 роки тому

      @@anab0lic I live in China where there is a lot of anti-Japanese feeling, due to WW2 atrocities. Barefoot Gen certainly is an apology from the writer for the crimes that Japan committed during the early part of 20th Century in Korea and China. I have only read Vol 1 in paperback but I would love to own the hardback versions of the full series. I find this kind of book far more satisfying than superhero stuff, though I also like that too. I think Blade of the Immortal and Lone Wolf and Cub I might target next. I've seen that they BOI is being reissued on 25th Dec of this year, all except Vol 7 omnibus (according to Amazon.co.uk).
