I do also love the subtle beauty to the desert look of the starting area. I remember after the first teaser was dropped some people saying the desert environment looked bland or boring but there is so much detail and life in a desert or savanna environment like this. The funny thing about the desings of the game, is the use of very normal materials on their outfits, especially in some of the weapons used in the game, everything is so small and have that real look to them, that clashes super hard with the colorfull characters! There is a look that they were trying to achieve, but in order to take full advantage of it, they would have to go a bit more crazy on how the weapons worked, not just aim and fire, and everything is a sub-machine gun, we already have shooting games with all those weapons in them, let's get Sci-Fi with this one, do a bit of nonsense! The whole thing on silluette in important, but it feels like it would not solve the problem in the long run, because it would just turn this into another generic shooter, when it should be trying to be it's own thing!

Hands down the best Roka redesign I've seen, it's amazing man.

I seriously appreciate you sticking close to the characters core design. So many people just threw the old characters out completely to the point where the source is unrecognizable. really liked roka's look, almost got an insectoid hollow knight vibe, while emari feels like a badass helldiver. (her shield having no visual que was a major pet peeve and you addressed that too)

I do not agree with your Concepts and no the artists who made the designs are not bad if only people went to Artstation to find out what the original character concepts looked like And then the universe of Concord was inspired by (Jean Giraud)

I just really dont like the puffed out looks of the second woman, with how her kit is in game her silhouette should be be less bulky, it's like her design is for a different character in game.

Form is really lacking on a lot of them, IMO, and I always look towards TF2 as the gold standard for this. A team/hero shooter with unique role-based character rosters needs first and foremost for each character to be identifiable in I'd say about one second. A player with basic proficiency in the game should be able to immediately have enough information about what they're looking at. If a character is too "mushy" for you to immediately know their role that harms gameplay.

Definitely an improvement over the original. Kept the overall design but added some much needed “umph” or personality. I can understand why the robot is the least hated. He’s a simple design but he stands out because he is just a cleaning robot with a vacuum in an obvious firefight.

They wanted "Guardians of the Galaxy" but instead they had "Monitors of the Solar System", but we all know they're more like the "tutors of the asteroid" haha

I'm a soon-to-be character designer and out of all the redesigns, I like them, but most did not stick to me as "this is it". Maybe because the redesign essentially or completely erased the foundation of the characters, that the end result turned out looking like a different character already. I don't hate it, but it completely misses the "fixing" altogether. This video showed me how easy it is to lose sight of the vision when you're trying to "fix" (in my case), and try to stick what's already there, add more and reshape what it intended to be in the first place. Thank you, this is very helpful and entertaining of showcasing your skills. Here's hoping to see your channel grow!
