    Yo Numbnut, the devices that you are referring to on the inside of the eyebolts are call nuts. You may have some washers under the nuts as well. Bolts have threads on the outside surface, nuts have threads on the inner surface. You'r e welcome for the free lesson!

    I'll be doing this after my blind is finished. Pieces are all cut and painted. Gonna assemble it than disassemble to take it too location. Your video helped me on how to raise it with my side x side. THANK YOU!

    Jason, re: deck - do you use a nail space or do you place the deck boards tight next to each other? Did you put any indoor/outdoor carpeting on top of the deck for noise control?

    Why don't people learn to use microphones when they try to make youtube videos?

    if you had a 2x6 holding the cable up by your bracing it would start the pull in an upward direction reducing the stress on the I-bolt and platform and framing.

    Good Job, All the way around it will be a sturdy stand!

    Why not just build it standing up? I’ve never understood this.

    Hope those bolts hold up on the post without a notch holding the weight of the deck. I guess the decking board will help.

    Jason I was wondering if I could use soft ball sized rocks and stone dust to fill the holes up? I have 2 yards of the stone dust and want to get rid of it.

    • @jasonjones9706

      Shawn, yes, for sure! I did, I filled the holes with rocks then pounded them down with a sledge hammer to make it tight. then filled with dirt to help keep water from going in the hole as much.

    I like how you me tuon right away to discard frayed wire. This is probably the biggest reason people get injured while winching anything..

    Good demo. I'd use a light tow strap as an extension on your winch to put you out of the danger zone if the platform does decide to roll. Additionally you can tie the other side off to a tree with a bit of slack as a roll preventer. The soil under the legs, before you place blocks under them, can be softer than you realize with the forces concentrated on a 4x4 post. Especially with a heavier platform.

      Cody, I went about 2-2.5’ feet down then I packed with softball size stones, filled in with dirt and packed hard with a wood splitting mull as I had a 8” hole.

    Thats awesome. I wish I could use one of those but I hunt public land so I have to use a removable tree stand. I like how you can get 360 degrees out of that. Do you frame it up for a blind?

    • @jasonjones9706
      @jasonjones9706 6 років тому

      David Given - good morning! You can easily frame it up for a blind, however I did construct a very nice deer stand out of it. I will be posting them shortly as a follow up on this post. The frame you see in the video was very easy to build and solid!
