If you use Oculus Mirror, there should be a stabilizer mode on the upper left corner menu. It works, but my computer doesn't like the app, as it'll skip frames during high rendering moments. It worked great on my last GPU, so maybe it'll work great for you.

I have a 4090 and what im saying is if you dont use oculus mirror how do you stabilise the head shaking in VR? I use Mirror and I already use stabilisation but the game looks much better if I can not use mirror.

@@MattGlover Sorry, I misunderstood your original comment. I don't post process any head shaking, whenever I play DCS. I agree with you that native DCS works much better. I believe that because you are capturing the direct DCS feed for VR to one of or both eyes, you will only receive the raw image, including shakes. The only way to remove them is in post-processing apps like Mirror (which degrades) or Steam VR using LIV ( help.liv.tv/hc/en-us/articles/4946005392914-First-Person-Stabilizer ). Maybe Virtual Desktop also offers a solution, but I don't like that app's performance on my Quest 1. I wish I could help more, other than saying stupid things like, "tighten your head straps" or "drink less red bull " :P If you happen to find a built-in solution to DCS, please let us all know!

Hopefully these tips will help. But yes. I'm finished with Meta, if they're pulling these games with their customers. VR should be as simple to use as a television, but they're always doing something to screw it up. Hope you get it working again.

@@NatendoSwitchto use steam VR do you still have to start up the Meta app and connect it through the Rift? Im going to try the XR companion thing you mentioned but I only have about an hour a day to work/play.

@chipburns4123 correct. Same usual startup for the quest. Enable link VR, Fire up Steam and make sure you have that set for open XR default app. If you have the open XR tool kit installed you can bypass these steps by disabling DCS in that tool. Do that if you hate Steam VR. Both work for me as of yesterday. Have a good one!

@@NatendoSwitch on the openXR companion tool kits website it says the new update from meta messed it up and that they wouldn’t be supporting that companion tool anymore. There is also supposed to be a hotfix I guess but my headset wont let me update it but you are correct. Unchecking the dcs lets it work now but now I have no FPS meter🤣🤣

why you so negative. Macros can be scanned by corporate pcs. Costs as much as a big mac meal to trick HR software that costs 8/ month.

I'm reinstalling the game, since it wouldn't launch with the oculus vr open xr. I'll let you know in like 20 minutes, but I know that there's some Laser options that didn't work for me l too. They would look for an already broadcasted Laser and not my own. Standby

@downtownstudios8560 Finally got it reinstalled and had to remap all the controls. good times. Here's how to do it - Range Laser in DCS is RHG LRFD Trigger - First Detent and Second Detent (you should have had these already mapped from what you're talking about). The feature will only work when Your RNG Laser Tracker Mode (LT) Switch - O (off) is set to that. Manual and Automatic will not allow you to use the Range Finder Laser when using TADS. Hope that makes sense! Long story short: 1. RNG Laser Tracker Mode (LT) Switch - O (off) 2. RHG LRFD Trigger - First Detent 3. Fire 30mm

yep. It's rough, especially since it's pretty much a blank slate when these modules are released. There are pros and cons to this, but I think the game would be way more approachable by those that aren't supernerds / work for a living and just want to unwind and have things just work. It blows my mind that we can't just hit a hotkey for mapping while hovering over what we'd like to control with that device. (example: look at APU, touch a hot key button, press joystick or hotas button, now it's mapped) Hang in there. If you can, enable the hand tracking controls or keep a mouse handy. I also use a hand shaped controller by Razer that helps with mapping random buttons, just not in this video. I use it for kneeboards and maps / NVG toggle

@@NatendoSwitch yeah I have the t.flight HOTAS with flight pedals. But there aren't enough buttons to map everything and then I have to press the space bar for things and use keyboard buttons on top of my t.flight HOTAS buttons while wearing a headset. It's just too much. There are too many inputs not enough buttons and I have to reach out and take my hand off the stick for the keyboard. Just a big mess.

@ChubbsMcgoo if you are still willing to give it a shot, try the Razer Tartarus V2 Gaming Keypad. Also, microprose is releasing a few VR friendly Sims now that respect people like us.

Agreed! It's either this way or the $10K self made laser cut / 3d printed setup that The Warthog Project has. I'm pretty happy with the single player performance, after the recent patches. Hopefully they can get MP running close to this sometime soon.
