I remember being 9 or 10, I was always playing center or right field. That day our second base did not show up and I was asked to play second base. I thought “how hard can it be?” Then a very hard rolling came my direction and the coach yelled “lower your body, put the glove in front!” I did… and the ball bounced and hit my chest first and then my chin hard enough that left a scratch and almost knocked me out 🤦🏻‍♂️… the next one coach yells the same thing and I yelled back ‘safety first!!!” And let the ball go through 😂😂😂 … hell nah!!
