A timelapse video of Rodney assembling the engine from the long block up for the Green Ghia. Special guest appearances from our shop apprentice Isaiah, and Audrey the Keeshond (if you watch very closely). This is for the Green Ghia, which is a 73 Ghia which has been modified to look slightly more like an earlier model Ghia. The engine is a 1776cc with dual carbs.

I decided to try something different with the floor mats for the Green Ghia. I didn't want any carpet in the mats, just leather, which wasn't going to give the rigidity needed, even with the nibbed rubber backing. I also didn't want to have any binding on the edges because there's already binding on the carpet and the door panels - binding on the floor mats also would have been too busy. Really...

Watch Cate hand create the custom leather and carpet door panels for our Green Ghia. These panels feature a carpet panel at the bottom, a row of leather with antique bronze grommets, a strip of 1 1/2" pleats, all flush cut to the board and bound in leather. The leather we are using is from Apex Leather, and the carpet is Squareweave also from Apex.

I've been watching Rodney work and he's very focus on detailed work, Yes I agree with him the "67 VW Beetle is and are the best, they have 53 modifications from the '66 counterpart, I purchased a '66 in November 2023 cause I couldn't find a '67 and in the process of total restauration and just by watching 5/6 videos posted on Luci... I'm in the Chassis and Body Stages and having issues with Floor Pans and Heater Channels as well as all 4 bottom corner pillars... btw excellent welding works and hoping learn more from Rodney ...Blessings JR
