    For the 2010 model, Ford switched from a replaceable fuel filter located just in front of the fuel tank under the car, to a 'lifetime' filter which was part of the fuel pump. The fuel pump itself, meanwhile, is located inside the fuel tank, so that's where the filter lives as well. thats why I couldnt find one in front of the tank on my 2010.

    Thanks for sharing this mate. Way too many steps though. No need to pull the pump, no need to pull the tire. Turn the tire all the way to the driver's side. Both bolts on the belt tightening bracket can be accessed easily. A simple pair of channel locks or an appropriate socket that fits over the wingnut will be enough to reach down and turn it without removing the power steering pump.

    Soo how much tension is right? I have a squeal when it starts for 20 seconds or so then goes away. One guy said if you can turn the belt 90 degree but no more, that's fine. Mines maybe a touch tighter. Don't want to be over tight... Idk where I'm at with what to aim for. I think it's too tight.

    From an at home mechanic: the same mechanism is employed to tighten both belts on the car. 2 bolts and 1 wing nut. In order to correctly adjust the belts you must first loosen the wing nut and top and bottom bolts for either the power steering pump or alternator (depending on which belt squeals).the accessory should move down 1-2 inches during which time you can re-tighten the wing nuts (pulling the PSP or alternator up to remove the slack in the belt) until your belts have a quarter inch inch of play. Then the other 2 bolts can be tightened hand-tight in order to secure it in place.

    Thank you sooo much for this video❣️ My 2005 Civic Ex special edition is doing the squeal thing exactly like this. I tried turning the AC off and sure enough, just like yours, the squealing stopped. I have to take it to my local mechanic, and text/email him this video. I hope he will fix it this way! About how long would it take to do the entire fix, if someone knows their way around the vehicle (or what the labor book would say)? Thanks, again, Garrie from California

    This guide is really good! Helped me find everything that I needed to replace the switch. However, it is unnecessary to remove the transmission mount to access the switch! I accessed it by using a half-inch ratchet, a u-joint, and a 22mm deep socket.

    Went to check out your other videos and noticed a familiar skyline, hello from the south side. I'm half owner in a 99 vert gt 5sp, bought with a friend to fix and flip but we had to much fun and decided to keep it, 4:10s a few bolt ons, new wheels and tires, coilovers and suspension over the winter transformed the car in look, feel and sound. These cars are so much fun for not alot of money.

    Okay I have a question hope you can answer, have same car, just ex trim, but my power sterring is leaking inside my driver seat, my mechanic pal told me i can just take off the power sterring belt and i'm good to go, but can still use A/c? And taking that belt off will not damage the rack?

    • @DefaultSlayer
      @DefaultSlayer 4 роки тому

      Correct. The power steering belt is separate from the ac compressor. If you take it off it will be fine, but your car will be hard to steer. I'm curious how power steering fluid is getting under your passenger seat. Unless you mean under the car. Hope I helped you! Pleas subscribe!

I fix cars myself, more as a hobby, but i never had problems with my civic, so the sterring shaft is connected to my rack, and somehow the power fluid is leaking inside my driving seat, like crazy, i used yo drive my dad old Celiva gt that never came with power sterring, so i'm good, just there was a burning smell, i worry if the car explodes or something, i hope i'm good driving it normally.
