Running the 8s kraton big disappointment

Just doing a quick run of the 8s kraton with the 530 kv motor and the 12s esc with a 27 tooth pinion. Not impressed. Have to change gearing hopefully that helps.

Hi, Unsure why my new 8s after 8 runs I have a solid red light. Do I need to rebind the system?

My slipper clutch screw doesn't lock up on my typhon and even over tighten it. I upgraded to steel spur and i replaced a new clutch spring and screw set. Keeps coming loose within 5 mins or drive a bit fast and hear the slipping and loss of power and stops and the plates separated. Idk what i could do with this rc.
Lots of folks tend to forget when clones first come out they were straight garbage. With that said as they gained traction they have greatly improved ALOT. Are they perfect no of course not. But no RC ever is. Clones got alot of folks into the 5th scale game cause they we're finally affordable. I've probably owed 10 are more 5th scales over the years. Sold most of them. Down to 4 now 2 clones and 2 original HPIs . Both have there place. I tend to focus more on the clone stuff now just because they have so much more to offer and more bang for your buck.
Is that the V2 30 degree North? The center diff looks like a V1.
The 30°north is also a v1. That is why I was comparing them.
@lnskustoms6795 I was going to buy that today. The description said V2, but the pictures are of the V1. It's listed for $750 as a roller.
@Victic005 if I understand correctly all of them now are the v2 for the roller. There are slight differences but honestly I have no complaints about the v1 I have. Has been an absolute blast running.

Cool first startup of your 30DN i'm planning to buy one in the next year or two. I'm not sure if i should buy the V1 roller and the V2 conversion kit with it when it comes back in stock at fearless RC or i might buy the V2 29cc RTR. Still cool can't wait to see running videos of your truck when you get it running.
Cool video, I'm looking into get a 30 Degree North V2 29cc RTR or V1 roller like yours either that or a real Losi 5ive-T 2.0 but i'm kind of torn between the two. and this will be my first gas 5th scale in my entire time in the hobby.

Thanks. My friends shop has just been getting full with other stuff and I haven't been able to make as much content as I have wanted too. So I figured I would get a trailer and make a mobile rc studio where I can do videos and also have all my stuff in one place and can travel with it. Maybe I can do some meet and greets and collaborate videos with others.

No sorry. It is new to my collection and will be doing more content on it. Will be running in the 29cc and then swapping it out for a OBR. Considering getting rid of a few of my losi dbxl buggies and a baja.

It's a clone. The original we'll have to retail box and that body only comes from 30 degree North
You apparently missed the point I have both. I know the 30°north is the clone. That is what my video was about. Which should you get in my opinion I say either but if you are on a budget the clone is perfectly fine. Get what you want and don't worry about what anyone else says.
@LNS KUSTOMS I was answering to the title of the video. I would choose the 30 degree North over the Losi all day.

My tank on the 2.0 dbxl leaked so I used a bolt just a bit bigger then the hole and put a fuel resistance o ring on it then tighten it back down. Hasn't leaked since

Yes I will be doing a run of the new 30.5 engine and then I will be swapping it out for the obr 30cc. The 30.5 will be going into the new baja that I haven't unboxed yet. LoL

How is the leopard motor holding up?
Is doing great. Was taken out of the kraton tho and put into a dbxl-e.

Those look like the bandito X on the blk Losi DB.. I have those on my 1:5K and although their belted, it’s got thin walls and the walls expand around 50mph and because the tread portion doesn’t expand because it’s belted, the whole tire becomes deformed. On pavement it sounds like either you blew a tire or you have a flat spot on your tires. When you slow down they go back to normal. I like the bandito X for the look and the skid sounds you get from them but they become badly warped around 50+mph. It’s like the walls expand and the tread portion buckles in. I guess thats why belted tires either have short walls or thick walls.
Yes those are. And thanks for the info. Will still give them a shot and if anything will have a set of tires for burn outs and try something different.

Did you plug the light bar in on the new receiver?
Yes the light bar is plugged in on the receiver. I unplug them at the back of the body. Usually don't run the lights.

Does it have enough power to upgrade the pinion gear to get 40-45mph? I’ve got 40 fairly flat acres I’d like to run it on.
I’m torn between this and the Kraton 8S.
@@nstewart636 to be honest I have both and the kraton 8s is a great platform. I have built my k8 into a 12s rig but haven't ran it and have it up forsale. I have 5 of the losi dbxle they too are a great car. Going to be build a speed run car with one soon and doing videos again of them.
Mine is definitely broken in and I would say yes as it has only been getting better as it is stock
@@lnskustoms6795 so I’m assuming that means you prefer the Dbxl over the Kraton? I’m not looking electric to electric. I’m looking at the gas Dbxl. They should really do the Kraton in gas. That body is probably my favorite looking one out.
@@nstewart636 I agree the body is cool and it would b interesting to see a k8 in gas. I was talking about the gas version dbxl I have the new one of it.
What a beast! This is the 1/5 scale RC I want for Christmas! It'll be fun to watch you tune this car to peak speeds and learn wirh you in the process. 👍

your gonna leave it just with velro ? dont bash to hard it will def come out. Use a zip tie around the hole revicer box it will def help. i have my spectrum stock esc with a zip tie too.
I have it pulled out already and as a joke I put in a 2050kv motor and a 6s esc. Going to do a video on it and see what happens. Should be interesting 🤔 LOL 😆

Get ready when you plug 12s into it cause the leopard motors get violent I run a flier but switching to this esc very soon
It's not too bad on 12s. I'm guessing because of the low kv it is manageable but not fast enough for my liking. Going to probably switch out the system for something else.

Overgear it still not enough 12s google your KV an you should find a plenty of gearing options.
The 35/39 gearing moves it just fine now. Going to keep making it faster with the 530kv once I hit a limit then I will go up in kv. This is all for fun.
Wow that's slower than I expected. My 8s has an 800kv 2028 but can't remember the pinion size. Not overly large but it almost explodes the tires.
It is much better now with 39/35 gearing and on 12s. Thinking about going to 39/39 tho.
