OVERDRIVE / TO800 BEHRINGER vs GT-OD MXR
Hola cómo estás. Excelente tono.
Thanks for this comparison, I've always loved the SD1, but gave it up when I got into true bypass, pedals, but scored an MXR GT OD, couple years ago , became my go to dirtbox, never realizing its the same as the Boss
Which one works better for boosting a high gain amp?
Great ear. Best video content.
Thanks friend!
Always played the Sd1, but since i tried the mxr it is my absolutely favourite now
The SD1 was my go to pedal fir years until I went Tru bypass, now the GT is my best
It's not a good test.Your pedals are not adjust the same.
Nice video! By 'clean' you mean how you set Quilter's?
yes, because the quilter (for me) its best sound is with the gain in 10 it is a perfect overdriver. And if to that you add any overdrive in the booster style (volume 10 and gain 5, to say) the IB45 really works wonders. I imagine that in clean the IB45 must be with the gain in 6. I do not remember it well. But that brand of amps is very good.
Ponce, no insulte.
nice clear sound, I live in an apartment, I have a mojo diamond hotone, I wanted a quilter reverb 101, do you think this interlock will be suitable, knowing that for me the clean sound is the most important because then I use pedals, not need two canals. thank you
If you live in an apartment, the interblock 45 will serve you well as voumen. I don't know if you need more knobs to adjust your sound, I am very happy with my IB45, it is fantastic, it has a unique sound. In my house I use it at low volume, because if not everything flies ... It is very powerful! Greetings and thanks!
Great sounding amp Pablo. Do you use it frequently?
Thanks! Yes, daily, because I really like their sound. I would not change it for anything!
@@pmamiaro For me the clean tone is fundamental. And on your video we can see a clear nice fenderish tone. When it comes to distorted tone I hope it can produce a tone that isn't spikey but has more fatter sound whit nice low end. On several videos with the interblock and Quilter 101 i have noted that the clear tone has several options. Overall it is exiting products from Quilter.
@@chrisseger6420 Personally, I like overdrive, distortion or fuzz, no. And I'm very happy with the sound that beat the Quilter. I am very happy with my little amp!

Great sounding amp Pablo. Do you use it frequently?
Great rewiev Thanks : )
Thanks!
Did you engage the ZW mode on the MXR GT-OD?
I tried it once, but I wasn't interested in that sound. In the video it is the actual sound of the pedal, not ZW
@@pmamiaro the irony is that the ZW mode is basically an SD1 clone...
MXR WINS!
que bandon por dioooos!
I need to know if this was in the standard mode, or with the internal switch engaged that makes it respond like a Zakk Wylde model?
It is in normal mode. NOT Zakk Wylde. This OD in its normal mode is already very powerful and has an edge, important. I have the TS 808 too and it's more ... gritty. On the other hand, the GT-OD has a body that makes it very special if you want to give more volume and power ... the GT-OD is the one. It is tremendous. On one occasion I opened it and tried the way you comment, there is the switch, but I was not interested in that sound. Maybe you should try it again, but ... opening it etc ... takes your job. There are many examples around here. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Saludos y muchas gracias.
What is “how booster”?
I use the compressor at full volume and depending on the gain of the amp, it sounds interesting and clear, turn up the volume although we already know that the compressor compresses. But, for tastes there are the colors. Greetings.
Donde encuentro la version original de Gustavo? Pleeeease....Cual disco?
el que busca encuentra
sounds great!
Thanks friend!
Gary Moore used the GT to play Hendrix
Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
Do you think I can find creamy jazz tones running this through my Egnater Tweaker 2x12?
Totally ... I would go for the Quilter 101 ... but the Interblock 45 already sounds wonderful ...
@@pmamiaro just got the quilter 45 yesterday and I am so happy with it. Comparing it side by side with my new Tone Master Twin Reverb and I have to say I may be returning the Fender. Nuff said!
@@sryburn641 Did you see how good the IB45 sounds?
@@pmamiaro I finally found my groove actually. The quilter through an d school bogner/line 6, 4x12 EVH cab and 2x10 Egnator. I play mellow. Stuff but it works well. Suited fir jazz actually. Great roomy sound.
Gt-od which has a true bypass switch wins.

Lol is this recorded on your camera microphone?
Yes: iphone
Hey guys, if you had to choose between SD-1 and MXR GT-OD: what would you go for? I know they both are a bit different but still...I'm looking for smth versatile, both to work as a stand-alone drive and cranking up crunchy/dirty channels. Thanks a lot!
both are very good, it depends on each one ... I like the MXR more, but there are also others ... Ibanez, JHS, EHX, Keeley, etc etc etc
Mxr if going with right out of the box, and if you also need it as a standalone " dirt" pedal" the main reason being the internal switch that allows you to keep the same tonal qualities, but adds quite a bit more gain. Something to consider though if buying used... the pre 2018 boss sd1 is super easy and cheap to mod with dramatic results and much easier to tailor to taste in the long run, as taste and style changes. A common mistake also made is this... an overdrive is not a distortion pedal and should not be expected to act as such. They are distinct from eachother. I often have both on board and if possible, that is the way to go. You may find that you love using an overdrive to boost the distortion pedal for solos. They pair nicely. An overdrive is made to push an amp. If you are needing a standalone dirt for a clean only amp or as a " virtual dirt channel" you need a distortion, that is not really what overdrive do and even high dollar ones dont do that well.
@@rowdyjohnson6026 Thanks a lot for a detailed advice!
The Boss SD-1 has this weird fizz in high gain settings. The MXR is the clear winner because it sounds more refined.
Just food for thought here for those who own the boss sd1... open it up and just cut out the c6 completely. Can just snip it out, no tech knowledge required. Helps the fizz AND really opens it up and let's it breathe. Requires 1 hand tool, no added or replaced parts, and 5 minutes tops.
@@rowdyjohnson6026 really i will try it
@@rowdyjohnson6026 Totally agree! This a very simple mod e makes the SD 1 sound wonderfull!!!
SD1 Soulfull... MXR boring...
about tastes...
Both are pretty awesome. The SD-1 is definitely a firm but smooth foundation while the GT-OD has a little more of a gritty kick. Personally I prefer the GT-OD because as a metalhead I like edge in my tone.
Get a GT-OD and you won't need a Sd-1. The GT-OD has a hidden switch inside that instantly turns it into the Zakk Wylde overdrive which is a copy of the SD-1 anyway. : D
Me gustó :)
SD-1 all day
Mxr wins!!!!
Nicolas Lanfranconi si!!!!!
Buenisimo!
Gracias ;D
Thank you for not overplaying! A common problem in most pedal demos. Good demo.
Of course, the demos go crazy and you do not really appreciate the sound of the pedal. Or speak and speak and speak :D Thanks!
Thanks friend!
Hi, which one is less noisy? (humm, fizz, you know). Very well played!!
I used the Boss for many years. The MXR, is VERY superior to my taste not "growling" The Boss, is very "grumpy" to my taste.
I own both. As far as bone stock is concerned, mxr takes the prize hands down. They both have pros and cons but out of the box mxr is superior. Boss is easier to mod to taste though whereas mxr is very unfriendly to mods. The cool part about the mxr is the internal switch. If you need more gain than the video shows, it is available at the flip of a switch while retaining the pedal's character.
