Gregg Bissonette - Advice To The Gigging Drummer (Giggity)
Never seen anything like this stress test. i swear, i try this at home!
Oh my god that would inspire anyone to learn drums
What a masterclass uauuuuu incredible mr Smith.Congratulations!!!
Freddie Gruber next to Steve Smith at 3:28 😊
IS HE READING MUSIC OMG
Amazing drummer.
The trumpft solo . Is super
That was a stunning solo! He's not just some "stay in the corner and be quiet" drummer! He's a true virtuoso in his own right!
Great drummer
I used to be a real Bruford fan, but watching any interviews he does, there's only so much unbearable smugness I can take. But this is fine - he swings and doesn't overplay like some of the BFB participants.
Wow Anton’s simply amazing!!!
Just saw Ringo and his all stars last night and being a drummer and a huge Greg Bissonette fan I pretty much just stared at Greg for 2 1/2 hours. What a treat and after the show my wife said “that drummer you love so much worked harder than anyone in the band”. I told her “I know, that’s drums and that’s Greg Bissonette.
Gregg has always been a huge inspiration and full of knowledge. Keep Rockin' Gregg!
That is the best piece of advice I have ever heard for drumming.
Beautifully understated playing. Not choppy. Just glorious recognition of the rides position in the arrangement. Love this so much
I never quite understood B.B.'s drumming.
It’s sounds very distorted when you hit the tom’s😦
😂👍🙂Awesome!
Maestro!
Bill is one of my heroes behind the kit, master of all genres, he plays a piece as it should been played no matter wichkinda music it was Absolutely perfect.
this solo only suffers the terrible mix of a saccharin tv show processed band sound. Anton's kit sounds waaaaayyyy better than this
Are you saying Anton sucks? He does not.. his Yamaha kit sounds great!
@@erichirsch583 pay attention
@@erichirsch583 You are the stupid illiterate one from your family, aren't ya?
Watch him with zakk wilde and les Paul's trio. Mississippi queen
I love this guy.
Love the Ross Perot ear reference Gregg. You are amazing
Every video Greg makes is incredibly informative. He's a bad dude.
Yamaha Recording Custom Kit, maybe???
YAMAHA PHX, Black Cherry Sunburst kit.
Wise words, as usual, from a great person who happens to play Drums! If only...
Thanks Gregg 👍🙏
Omar!
thanks so much :)
He’s not simply a drummer but rather a musician and a masterful one at that
These are solid points for any musician... Bass, Guitar, Vocalists, Horns, Keys... :)
Love this guy. All wisdom.
I love Gregg! One of the GOATs.
Thank you.
Big oof
I have never understood the point of the Burning for Buddy venture, and this video sheds no light on the matter.
Beautiful work, Steve!
He did not know how to celebrate at the end. He looked like he was going to stand up and throw his sticks to the audience then realized it's Jazz. Light snare work, he was not dropping or bouncing the stick he was lightly touching the skin with every hit. Light enough to practice at 3AM with your parents sleeping in the next room.
Nicely done! Swung the crap out of it, without excess, which allowed more of the band's nuanced playing to shine. Kicks and fills were tight and a good fit. I liked the greater use of the kick drum for accents with the band.
Wonderful performance under such pressure - good on ya Billy Boy! 👊
Absolute master! I wish I could have seen him live.
Legend
Excellent touch, love it !
I like Bruford but there is method with no feeling in his drumming here.
What was the name of this video? I would love to track it down and watch it in full. Thanks.
This grew on me. I love it Bill!
🙄☝️🌱
Chit ; love you did it, ,,,,! Full jazz feeel,! The conectin with the horns and the rythem together magic!! Relaxat and in the groove %!,, you got it!, love your work in prog , rock or jazz!! Always with the soul of drumming in focus!, my favorit drummer! Every day!! Love from Sweden! // Kent
Whoever was playing lead trumpet for the band at the time was a MONSTER player in terms of pure high range
Lovely stuff. As with all of the guys who took part in this event, Bill turned up out of respect and played with the perfect blend of passion, restraint, humility, humour and skill. It's rather sad to think that Buddy - for all his outstanding technical mastery of the drums - would have been the very last person to exhibit respect, restraint, humility or humour had he been asked to attend a similar event for a fellow drummer. He'd have refused to do anything outside his own preferred style of swing. Can you imagine him showing up to play fusion for Billy Cobham or Simon Phillips, prog-rock for Phil Collins or Neil Peart, blues for Charlie Watts, simple country tunes for Don Henley, or rock-reggae for Stewart Copeland? Not a chance. Buddy Rich - the world's greatest and most appropriate Spoonerism.🤭
