isn't that model the one that can break were the body screws to the feed section, because it's plastic? I saw on another video that there's was an upgrade on the feed having a brass piece so it wasn't susceptible to breakage when pressure was applied if the pen was on a pocket or some other weird situation.

can you remove the cap end to add a custom made silver snake clip under the red and white star? I would like to buy one, but I absolutelly love the clip on the big Rouge et Noir version and I cannot tell how the clip is attached on those because the cap looks to be almost the same

How can I get snake clips?

How many pens do I have like THAT in my collection? 6. Three Myus, a Myurex, and two Parker 50s. I love these. I’m on the lookout for a Parker T1 that still has its nib. Titanium has a nasty habit of work hardening during the manufacturing process.

Thanks for this video. I just bought one of these but I didn't know what model it was. I think mine is a later manufacturing date, the nib is similar to the one on my Generations fountain pen, with the snowflake stamped on.

I have this pen and I love it!

I bought one to try the general size and shape. That is the only similarity between this and MB149. Jinhao nibs are inconsistent. My fine is much wetter than yours and does not have the hard starts. It may be the ink. I am using Heart of Darkness. Mine has no flex and if I push it becomes too wet. I like the #8 nib because my fingers are a bit higher up. The piston in the MB moves the weight to rest in the crook of your thumb. The weight on X159 is down low.

I have the quark in zirconium with flex titanium nib. I notice the slight squeak and put a dab of silicone. It reduces the chirp.

5:40 all the pocket pens (but the Dinkey Cupronickel) should have a teflon lining inside the cap to avaoid scratching the barrel. The Dinkey Cupronickel is the only one equipped with the lining.

I also experience gritty threads on my titanium Quark when posting. Originally I thought it was from a dent in the threads but now I think it may be the pitch... which probably doesn't help with the cross-threading issue. With that said, I do love the Quark - it's been inked since I got it. I'm also eyeing the Dinkey. Have you ordered one yet?

Great video, puts me in a good mood right away! I own a Supra in brass and really love it. Unfortunately I don't use it that often bebause the whole screwing action is too much for me, maybe I have to get used to it more as you say...

BTW I have been enjoying your content. Love your take on these pens. Visually, I love the design and bought one in Blue with a fine nib. Here in Canada, these run retail for around $60 USD, so they aren't all that cheap. Oh how dissappointed I was! Not only does the cap wiggle. The nib hard starts all the time. The anoidized finish is also wearing off where the cap snaps to the barrel due to the magnets. I should have returned it but I tried to do some work with micromesh on the nib to get it to work so I assumed they wouldn't take it back. The nibs are said to be a Jowo but the feeds are not. They seem to be the cheap Chinese plastic ones you find on Jinhao's and Majohn's (Moonman). The nib unit is also proprietary so you cant just screw in a different Jowo nib unit. You would have to pull and swap out the just nib. The combination of being a heavy pen and very slippery makes it very uncomfortable. I have found #6 Monteverde nib units sold seperately but that would mean sinking another $28 CAD ($20US) into the pen. I am just going to take my loss and run. ☹

I have this pen in a blue version. I enjoy writing with it, I like "Fine" nibs what I notice is that sometimes the pen skips and I have to go back to " re write" some bits of letters. I have a X450 from Jinhao and have no problems with it but the nib is a "Medium". I'm looking into Moonman/Majohns pens to add to my colection. PS - I loved your desk! :)

id say the cheapest pocket fountain pen is the jinhao 82. theres also a jin 82 mini but its so small that it can only be used by small hands.

Today I received my Quark up in stonewashed zirconium. Waited almost 3 months for it. Love the pen! My threads squeak as well.

As someone who detests smoking, I would enjoy carrying a nice cigarette case full of these little pens. Especially in all their colours, like they're special devices for different purposes. I didn't think I was gonna care for removing the finish, but that silver & gold certainly looks sleek. Cool idea with the drill! Oh, & I have to say: Don't forget to wear your dust mask

Pilot needs to resurrect some of their old designs! The MYU and full size Elites were beautiful pens.
