Why keep playing TF2 in 2025?
After the final comic's release, I was once again met with the question "Why do you still play TF2?"

Level One: Casual

Sometimes, you casual chucklenuts are funny. A casual compilation stitched together from a scrapped video, and a couple Uncletopia bits. I animated just a few things in Blender (not SFM) to hopefully make some clips stand out and worth sharing. Share the video if you like, Team Fortress 2 is still a fun game without people like me posting about it. Check out all the mods and HUD I use here: pas...

To all the new and returning players, here's how to use the Community Server Browser. It's not difficult, there's not bloat. Just straight to the point.
#FixTF2 My Thoughts

Because of the sanctuary community servers provide, I am usually not under attack from the bots. However, that doesn't mean that I am not sympathetic to the movement. I believe everyone's safety is at risk while these bot hosters are allowed to run amok. Valve, Please Fix. Please excuse my poor gameplay, it was from last night, and I've literally only been editing and animating/mocapping the pa...

The Silly of 2023
Переглядів 384Рік тому
I took all my Team Fortress 2 clips from 2023 that weren't made into shorts and edited/animated them together. This was really fun to make and I hope you enjoy watching it! These clip compilation videos won't be too common, because I want to make videos about actually playing TF2 to get better/understand the game more. But here you go, a string of funny bits woven together to make one video wor...

Simple answer: It is fun, and does not require some obnoxious gimmick to come back to. Mechanics are simple and fun, and the community is decent. Additional Answer to the above: The Characters are charming and funny, and you can make up entire stories simply by using their appearance, cosmetics and voicelines. You cannot do that with modern games and characters. They not only have prepackaged stories, but they also have preestablished lore that cannot be broken least you want to be lynched by a deranged mob, and their cosmetics are entirely a part of their outfit with no way to change them around without a lot of elbow grease. Add in the fact that Modern Games rely too much on "The Meta" and you have games that become boring really fast.
Super short answer: its just "the" fun Long answer: games these days geeniuenly make themselves like a chore to catch as many players as long as possible, they forget the main thing games are made for, the "fun" factor, like nothing has to be balanced, its supposed to be fun, im not gonna log on to a game to complete a battlepass, or to get an item, i play to have fun
Socializing with taunts is the main reason to play tf2
Simple: This is the only game that lets me top score using nothing but a frying pan.
because i like hightower instant respawn
lol fr
Mainly because this game is designed for the normal playerbase and not competitive. Despite VAC being used rarely in servers since the game was mainly about having fun doing what you want, when the subtle game design that incentivises you to push the cart/cap the point kick in everyone is able to work together without talking. Something most competitive games can't integrate into there game without stripping players abillity to do there own thing and/or have fun. It's refreshing to know that each game of casual will give people the freedom to play anything they want and still have a good chance of winning. Even if everyone decided to meme around with 11 demoknights and a medic
Because it's fun
TF2 is a capsule of how shooters used to be, rather then toolkits being crazy and distinct they’re simple and nuanced wih a focus on fundamentals. I really like this game ans wish there were more like it.
We should keep playing team lobotomy 69 until the heat death of the universe
Do you wanna live forever?
@@Rordan44 maybe
cuz its the best game ever hehe
because i’m kinda sick of every other fps game. terrible teammates (mostly the toxic ones), i have to try my ass off to get anywhere and actually win, they’re way too frustrating. i love tf2 because i can still shoot at people but i can relax while doing it. i can play 2-3 games where i sweat on scout and then the next game i market garden or join on a dance party happening on doublecross. it’s the perfect blend of fps and relaxing and i will always love it for that. the game by design is meant to play for a couple hours a day before going to something else. i’ve never been frustrated when logging off for the night, only content.
because tf2 is fun
Started playing TF2 11 years ago! Very surprised this game is still so healthy, I'm very glad it is!
been playing this game bought for years and have like 3 non free hats. I hate this game
Just roll better hat drops smh
What a vutie pie
is that inevitable struggle from trails from zero as bgm?
No, I can't remember what it is and I'm out RN, but it's more than likely something from Sonic Colors.
End of the Summer - Sonic Runners
My answer Is funny death (insert demo laugh before explode binding)
I'll reply the question with another one. Why do people still play tag? Also, bro is really farming the 2025 title days before it even it's 2025 lmao
"Farming" bruh I was planning on releasing this on New Year's but decided against waiting.
Hard agreem just because the game is not being developed by valve, doesn't mean you can't play it in the future. I mean people play mario 64 even if emulated even though it's been 28 years, the game is good on it's own accord and newer generations can still op to play it. I do feel tf2 will be one of those games that will survive throgh similar means, there is no other game like it. Doesn't need to be updated, just needs to be enjoyed like old movies, and as far as I'm concerned old movies haven't stopped being shared around so you don't enjoy them anymore.
Two words Killbind comedy
As much as i love the game, i've stopped enjoying it as much as i did a while ago. Those funny moments the game hands out sometimes are overshadowed by how little care has been given to it for the past few years. -I wanted to improve and get better at the game, but i cant justify spending hundreds of hours into casual when half of the combat in it involves random crits and random everything. -Community servers are completely dead and the ones that aren't are not in my region. -Trading (even just for fun and not for profit) has become obsolete because of all the trading bots that makes getting anything impossible. -Competitive is dead and im not good enough of a player to play that. -The game runs worse every year because of all the slop cosmetics they add I've basically relegated myself to playing nothing but CTF maps (as they are the only maps i can have some consistent fun in) and even then it's miserable because theres a huge influx of closet cheaters reappearing in those servers, and you know how the community is, they rarely kick anyone. Not even the fanmade TF2 mods/games like TF2C and Open Fortress are worth playing because they have very low player numbers and have no servers in my region. I love this game and want to enjoy it, but i cannot justify playing it if all it does is make me angry and depressed at how neglected a huge community like this is.
As a spy main, I am obviously the epitome of suffering being, well, a spy main, and of course, considering melee crits are more likely to be inflicted on spy due to his playstyle, so I think I have a pretty good grasp on the situation regarding crits. I was born and molded by them, you merely met them on occasion. I still want to improve at the game, but I've probably plateued at this point. I've spent 5k hours in this game and enjoyed most of it. I don't think i have much more improvement to get, especially because the game isn't getting very many new, mediocre players, and TF2 is becoming the next Quake - a small community that becomes increasingly insular from neglect, an incredibly competitive game that drives away newcomers, and an increasing level of toxicity as its community gets detached from reality and grinds the game for every second its worth. If you took me when I began playing and threw him into modern day TF2, I would not have stayed around. Today, it's already hard enough to be an incredibly effective spy unless you get lucky or learn psychological warfare and use the entire kit to its extremes. I totally agree that crits are bad, and I think random minicrits would be better. Less punishing, and still contributes to the original intent of preventing stalemates by making steamrolls a bit better.
take your meds bro, its not 2025.
I had one too many pizzas you right
Wake up babe, it’s 2007.
Because its fun
hey i know you
I thougt the same thing when I saw this video
If only...
You beat me to it. No other reason to play any game besides that.
quite true
It's fun
no, WE ARE GOING TO LIVE FOREVER!!
Wrong
"I didn't say that! I just said we aren't going to get updates!"
Name ur horse By-Tor
because i wanna >:(
There is only a finite amount of TF2 matches that will ever be played. This is truly one of the games of all time.
short answer - because it is fun, and there is no actual other game like TF2 : Chaotic 12v12 but still casual. Still waiting for non 5v5/6v6 comp fps.
shoutout to my unfinished mario 0:48
You gotta finish it, I got you more wool last time I was out finding dark oak.
Use loose cannon, tide turnder, scottsman's skullcutter. Thank me later.
I feel like the Skullcutter is just MVP in casual due to the overabundance of crits. I don't like the weapon, but I do see it's usecase. Usually in Uncletopia I prefer the extra charge duration for getting out of fights or catching someone running away.
Tracer is scout, tf2 came out way before overwatch.
Bro the first minute made me so triggered. "Most of the time pyro does not require aim" and "most do not acknowledge dragons fury" bro i was bout to slam my keyboard
this is so trash bro
My Recommend load out for pyro is Dragons fury Detanator Power jack
