BBC - Dave Allen - The Immaculate Selection (2014) (480p)

An anthology of Dave Allen's finest, funniest and most irreverent material, compiled from his time at the BBC from 1971 to 1986. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03n322s
Lauren Bacall was on an episode of “What’s My Line” in the 1950’s. Of all the beautiful women to ever appear on that show, she was at the top. So much strength and intelligence and absolutely gorgeous. Hollywood has lost all of that.
He would be in prison now, with all this wokery we’ve got to endure. Predictive text hasn’t come to the understanding of the word wokery yet. Possibly we humans are ahead of game,be vigilant!
I can't believe I never heard of this brilliant comedian before, he is fantastic! Thank you for the uploading!
The Irish comedian ever Along with Frank Carson Wonderful Comedy Not like the rubbish Today
he could also be James Bond for real
Like Billy Connolly a great story teller their comedy was very similar
2024, and still find him one of the best comedians, R.I.P ❤️🙏🏻
I remember watching Dave Allen in Canada in the 70's and 80's. HILARIOUS back then and now! I should've realized it can be found right here all this time! ❤👊😆
I am Canadian! 🇨🇦
He was handsome❤
I once chatted with a guy who had been an air steward for British Airways. He told me their policy when a celebrity was aboard was to treat them like anyone else. Dave Allen was on a flight from London to Manchester. At Manchester airport an impromptu trade union meeting was called. They became aware that Dave Allen was on the periphery and he asked if he could listen in. After thirty minutes the meeting ended and he said, "Thank you." Explaining that had been the first time in ages that he had been able to just sit with a group of people without somebody asking him to tell a joke or, "Do the Murphy voice for us!"
Lauren Bacall was a true class act!
For the person who wants to know what happened his left index finger had an accident ur looking at that when he is as funny as hell
Lauren is a legend,, simple as that.
Still genius ❤❤❤
Genius!!
There were very few comedians that my dear father enjoyed, but Dave Allen was his favourite.
I was aware of Ms. Bacall growing up as I had heard my parents speak of her, and I had seen a couple of her films, but after seeing her live on stage in "Woman of the Year" in the early 1980s, I was a fan! Her talent, energy and work ethic were all quite impressive. She certainly stayed busy, not just making movies and appearing on stage, but doing TV commercials that most legendary performers would have probably turned down, such as High Point instant coffee, or the now defunct brick-and-mortar discount retailer, Tuesday Morning. Rest in peace, Ms. Bacall.
Es bella, inteligente y divertida y me encanta que sus cejas no sean tatuadas...es bella sin operaciones ni arreglos extraños...
Dave Allen is the comedian from my youth that I miss the most. There was no one quite like him then or now. He was an urbane, even droll, observer of modern life's iniquities and absurdities. He also drew on a deep well of anger towards the received wisdoms and stifling conformity of the institutions that he grew up with, in particular, the Catholic church. These sletches are a delight. Time has made them less daring perhaps. But we have people like Dave Allen to thank for that.
I genuinely met him and made a total arse of myself, and he was in hysterics!
Dave Allen fuked me up the right way. RIP buddy!
I wonder where that chair is now.
I'm sure he's entertaining the saints and The Lord God Almighty up there
Britain mocks its own culture , wot a larf , and ends up as the Britain it is today. Now that's funny.
I watched these with my da my fa's laugh had me in stitches ireland love him he's a legend
My brother and me when we stayed at our grans, we would watch dave Allen and laugh, my gran and us would love to watch him, God knows what he would make of today's world, has anyone made that time machine yet😢
Given that he died (RIP) in 2005, what has 2014 got to do with it…Those who post on UA-cam seem utterly bereft of basic English…
Dave Allen was the king of cool
What a wonderful woman! One could listen to that voice for hours - possibly with a less boring interviewer. Will never forget the emotions I felt when I saw her on stage in London, back in 1985. She literally filled the theatre with her outstanding personality and beauty. ❤
(2014) ?
Glorious to watch! She definitely had 'character'!!
Very strong, nice lady.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I used to watch Dave Allen in the 80's with my dad,he was absolutely brilliant and so funny, his jokes were amazing,I'm 64 now,I still love watching him, what an amazing Gentleman he was
All religions are poison .
I think she was extremely talented, no phony, straight to the point, great sense of humour, self awareness, stylish and very beautiful. As she grew older, she became an extremely sexy striking woman. My favourite ❤❤
But, He's smart by being a UA-camr! Right? I mean, that makes him a validity?
From the most mesmerising and articulate speakers of all time to say this just amplifies religion POISONS everything is so true
trappist sketch any one else get flash backs to life of Brians "stoning?"
There are billions of people on Earth, and you couldn't find ONE to narrate this ? You had to use a computer voice instead ? (a bad computer voice, at that)
Spotted a young Sam Kelly in a couple of skits.
I'm glad i grew up with this . Absolutely brilliant ❤❤❤❤ A comedy genius.
Dave Allen was very popular in Australia.
The days of comedy when they didn't need foul language'
Dear Dave Allen… As funny as the first time I laughed at these sketches and, as you’re gone, you can’t be ‘cancelled’. Well done, you got away with it all!
Dave Allen a brilliant comic 👏 😂❤
I am a brit 69 I missed out when I was young to busy Galavanting now I can catch up with Dave. Allan
Dave was the best comedian ever❤️👍👍😂😂😂
I remember the Dave Allen Show in the mid 1960's, when he mixed comic sketches with real escapology tricks.
It's amazing how alcohol changes the human persona!!
I cannot imagine how funny he must have been as a family member, absolutely brilliant.
