      This one is actually under a tree for half the day and works fine. Yep, works at night and during the day. 😀

    I want one of these fountsins. but how long does it actually run because it runs out of power ? Evetyally the soloe wont be enough for the power demand i would assume

      1 year later and it's still running like new. It charges up during the day so it never runs out. 😊

    You would use a lot of water as you have to keep filling it up. If a wind blows the water sprays over the sides and loses water from the bowl

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch Місяць тому

      No, I only fill it maybe twice a week - if that. 😊

      In this one it's - cinnamon, contents of a tea bag and porridge oats. 😀

      Hi! I used any slightly bendy branches I could find but the best ones would be willow as they're super bendy and strong. 😀

    I planted my peas in the greenhouse this year and although I’m harvesting some beautiful and abundant peas, sadly we are moving and I only have a deck. So, I will be trying your method next spring! Thanks!

      Oh amazing! Yes, you really don't need a big space to grow your own veggies. Most things you can grow in pots. 😀

    How often you have to fill with water? Seems shallow

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch 2 місяці тому

      Needs filing maybe once a week. Using a large nozzle means not much water gets lost. It being white means less gets evaporated too.

    That’s the way to do it. I’ve seen so many that leave an opening around the pot that a small bird could fall into and drowned. Great work.

    How clever! I've got alot of those baskets and this would be great. My husband has cucumbers in his big garden, but I love this idea, as well as yellow squash. I would have them on my porch and the greenery would be welcomed. Thank you!😊

    Beautiful focal point! I love that flowers are used in the base. Also, the square planter with a round one on top is nice. Can you share where you got your solar fountain?

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch 3 місяці тому

      Hiya! Yes sure, the fountain was from Amazon and the x2 pots were from home bargains for about £2 each. 😊

    It looks nice but with the weather in this country being so harsh that plastic container will probably rot and break off where you drilled the holes after one season. Wouldn't it be better if you provided so sort of weight support to it? Besides that I love the idea of utilizing your fence to add more flowers!

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch 3 місяці тому

      Hey! I wondered that but it's been up for 2 years now and still going strong. Putting large washers in around the screws helps too if you're a bit worried. Good idea about the weight support though. 😀

    It’s nice and easy but you’ll have to add water often.. I had one and in the heat the water evaporates very fast and a lot of water would splash out. Enjoy but just keep an eye on water level, you don’t want to burn out the motor. 😊😊

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch 3 місяці тому

      Thank you. It actually wasn't bad with the water. Every 3 to 4 days it needed a top up and if you use a bigger spout no water jumped out as the pressure was lower. 😊

      Any ideas on keeping the wasp away? I live in the south and it hit 97 degrees this week and the wasp are gathered in a group around the fountain. I had to empty the water. 😢 The fountain is close to our house and I'm afraid we will get stung going out the front door. It was beautiful though.

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch Місяць тому

      @reneechampion3713 oh no! Not had that happen before. Apparently they don't like the smell of mint so maybe you could put a mint plant or some sprigs around it?!

    Looks beautiful 💜 This is my plan this year. Last year ALLL my veggies were scratched up or just destroyed by the neighbors chickens. I got 1 tomato. Not sure how they got through the fencing. Hanging everything I can this year lol.. plus, the majority of her chickens are gone, only 4 left.

    What does cardboard do?

    • @Becksveggiepatch
      @Becksveggiepatch Рік тому

      The cardboard does a few things - helps fill up space so less money spent on compost and soil, the worms LOVE it and its great to help lower your waste materials. 😀
