Why is there no direct competitor to JD?

I have two small john deere tractors,i like them both,but i can & will buy a different tractor,if JD is moving to Mexico,then i will buy Massey ferguson!just simple as that.

Its called capitalism, hallmark of American. Pretty much every manufacturer in the USA has production in other countries..even parts imported to be made in America. Manufacturing in the USA is very expensive. Will tariffs help, maybe a little in some industries but I just don't see companies investing million of dollars to make everday items that will cost 2 to 3 times to make and then not sell because they are just too expensive for what they are. Tariffs will make everything cost more for everyone. Imo free trade is a better idea for all countries. Tariff wars will cost jobs in all particpating countries. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
