If you have ever read the caiphus cain books, while most of the imperial guard adore cain as a hero in setting he is actually terrifying. He has directly fought in melee combat against hive tyrants, khornate berserkers, greater demons of slaneesh, orc warbosses, and necron overlords all while coming out the winner basically completely unscathed. He even has a branch of the imperial faith dedicated to worshipping him as a prophet of the emperor.
