I think Phil might have liked to know that the largest cattle "ranch" (read "Station") in the world is in Australia- The Anna Creek Station at 2 million acres. At least 7 times bigger than any Texas ranch. But (sigh) you know ,Texans with their, "Everything is bigger in Texas" BS.

A beautiful, modern parable of a life transformed when the purpose for living became clear! There are many valuable lessons in this remarkable little book. I have used it as a teaching tool for many years.

This is one of my favorite books, I read it years ago myself, then to my children, then to my Sunday school class. Recently it has been on my mind, and I am so thankful to have heard the story again in Philip’s own speaking voice. How precious is that… I used to be so much like Lass, I long to love obeying my good shepherd like this again. Never too old to do that ❤

I’ve read this story in the book. I love this man and can’t wait to meet him in heaven. I love the picture of the potter using water to apply and shape the lump. He goes in to say that God uses His word to shape us.

Only when the will is broken, when to choose to trust God regardless of understanding, when you stand on the word and let that become your meditation will you be able to be everything he called you to.

This is so true. 12 years ago we adopted our second child. The journey to him was hard and confusing. I really didn’t know what God was doing. Now all these year later we have five kids, the last three siblings of my son. It has been soooo hard. It was a huge leap of faith to answer God’s call. I really thought that would be the hardest part. It was only the start. Most days I’m exhausted to tears. The message was and is, be moldable.

I have happened upon this message and also the message Lessons From a Sheep Dog. Such rich imagery that touches the depths of my soul. Does anyone know if there are any other sermons on UA-cam from Phillip Keller? Also wondering if anyone knows if he had been a guest speaker at Trinity Western University in the early ‘80s. These seem familiar to me from long ago.

Keller fashions the story as the potter fashions the clay; going back and forth from the potter's hands on the clay to God's hands on our life. He forms the two together to illustrate how God's purpose in our lives can be hindered or helped by our willingness to be formed by our creator. Adam's original sin of self-will is still at work today to prevent God's Kingdom from being done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Thank you so very much for posting this marvelous message by the late Phillip Keller. I have a cassette tape that I bought 30+ years ago which is wearing out - now I can 'link' it - so that others can hear - and prayerfully learn from this timeless message - for there are so many lessons to learn about being the ambassadors that we should be for the eternal "Lord of lords, and King of kings" - for those few who truly are "the saints in Christ Jesus" - and desire that "the Lord God Almighty" will by His wondrous Mercy and Grace give us "an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day": *Whom shall he teach knowledge?* *and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?* *them that are weaned from the milk,* *and drawn from the breasts.* *For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;* *line upon line, line upon line;* *here a little, and there a little:* (Isaiah 28:9-10 AV~KJV) .

How thankful I am to find this message by Phillip Keller. I have had a copy of the cassette tape for years, and it is wearing out because I've listened to it many times. For me - this is a message about 'Biblical CHRISTianity' in 'shoe leather' - the practical application of *"the words of the Lord"* in how our lives are to be affected 24/7/365 by what we read in the Holy Bible - as it is written: *"And this is love,* *that we walk after his commandments.* *This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."* (2 John 1:6 ~ AV~KJV) .
