      I am wondering, whether it is more difficult, because you just hear arpeggiated piano sound. I find it easier to identify the chord progression, when I hear a song in the radio than on this video.

    Thank you verry mutch ❤ I still don't like how the vii° chord is discriminated but this is one of the best ear training exercises I've had, I will practice more with you ! Have a good day

      Thank you for this very nice feedback. I will consider including the vii° chord. I avoided it, because usually I find it too easy to hear it. But it makes certainly sense to also recognize it, in particular in relation to other 7th and diminished chords.

    Still nice! What about descending intervals? Harmonic?

    • @MartinPyka
      @MartinPyka 3 місяці тому

      I plan to create them as well. I think though that ascending intervals are the most important intermediate stept towards relative pitch for piano players that want to play a song by ear. From there, you can continue with learning recognizing scale degrees. How do you apply descending and harmonic intervals?

  • @elmo93111

    And by the way : Do you know a trick to get my braine tuned to another key faster? I also struggle with singing a melody and after that singing it in another key (like one tone higher or so.)

    • @MartinPyka
      @MartinPyka 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for the feedback. I have a piano background and I also struggle with changing keys. For recognizing intervals (like in this exercise) it is ok, but when it comes to singing, I have the same problems. In the eartraining group on reddit other people are also reporting about reaching a learning plateau for some time. Sometimes, it lasts for a couple of weeks/months until they reach the next level. So I think, it is totally normal.

    This is great, especially the fixed root. In fact I already know them all, but I always struggle with the ever changing key in average apps and audios.

      This is a visual representation of a theta brain wave, which is only around 4-8 Hz and is a little too low to hear. The low end of human hearing is around 20Hz and extends up to 20kHz. Average adult hearing range is usually closer to 15-17kHz. Whenever you are near high voltage power lines, that hum you hear is in the 50-60Hz range depending on where you are in the world.

    This would be an amazing interface for the allen atlas! Looks great. I'm confused about proximal/distal. What are those relative to?

    • @neurochannels
      @neurochannels 3 роки тому

      They are typically relative to CA3 (e.g., in CA1 proximal means closer to CA3 and distal means further from CA3). But it has come to to the point that 'proximal' just means rostral by convention. The nomenclature can be more confusing than the actual anatomy. Also it is sometimes called the 'transverse' axis instead of 'rostrocaudal' because of course it is.
