Im 22 and graduating soon and gonna start a job after and im lowkey scared for this reason. hell even masters college is kinda weird cuz a lot of my friends from undergrad aren't here anymore so it feels more lonely. rly missing being a freshman in college again and just sitting in someone's dorm room at 2am talking bout random shit and not worrying about what i gotta get done
the reason why 12 months feel so short when you become older, is simple math. when you were 10, 1 year would be 1/10th of your entire life, probably more like 1/7th of what you can somewhat remember. but when you're 25, 1 year is just 1/25th of your life. so it is literally less.
Easy fix. Break your routines. Routines make your brain turn off. Do something uncomfortable every day, try a new thing, explore a new place. Or heck once a week! Life will move slower. Life moves slow as a kid because ALL experiences are new. Want to feel immortal? Try to do that once a week as an adult. Develop a proper mindset and know that you know nothing. You can be 80 and ignorant. Grow, explore, learn, once a week. Hell even if that means doing an activity you don't do the other 5 days a week that helps.
Great advice. I used to do mini-adventures after work and they do help with breaking out of the everyday monotony.
Idk dawg, I'm your age... And I feel like it might be too late for me...
What makes you say that?
Bro after completing this please play pokemon unbound.
I'll definitely have a look.
@darkneosphere yessss
This video come a good time 👍
Glad to hear that! What are you planning to do now?
Yeah totally agree with the exposure therapy theory. I think some people are just forced to go through uncomfortable social situations when they're young, so they build that muscle. It's some sort of muscle, I think. A certain weight can feel like a lot for a weak muscle and like nothing for a stronger one. It's relative, I think. You can also grow that muscle to be thick for it to then thin out with time if you don't expose it enough
Exactly. I was a bartender for a short period of time and I noticed how I automatically became sharper in social situations and then I felt like I lost those abilities temporally in 2020 during the lockdown.
As a big pokemon fan, I still clicked because of the topic :D Anyways, I think you are talking more about "social anxiety". Because introverts can also be good at being social, they just need alone time too. But people with social anxiety are the ones to overthink every conversation and also try to avoid them. (I know from experience 😅) Still, you got some good points there. And the pokemon gameplay is nice in the background! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the input :D Yeah, I've become one of the social introverts, but did struggle a lot with social anxiety earlier on, so that does reflect in the video. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey thanks for making this video i do like to look back at my past i love looking back on the memories i made but even back then life was just as much as struggle as my adulthood being taken away from my family losing brother at the age of 6 my sister fell into depression and i couldn’t do anything about it and my mom abandoning the family even if sometimes my life feels like a pure grind love looking forward and looking at the positives i have a girlfriend i can spend time with my family again at last i have a job im proud i made it this far and i will always try to find time for video games i love them its fun to look back but i prefer moving forward life is to short to be stuck in the past i made it this far cant wait for the future and i will keep moving forward and live life to the fullest
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like you're in a good place now with a good mindset. Good on you for making the best out of the cards that you were dealt.
Np thx only thing is i hope my bro is happy where ever he is
Goals are the chapters of one's book of life. Could you answer what's the *title* of your book of life (must be open-ended)
That's an interesting question hehe. Something like "Leveling Up: The Quest for Clarity, Freedom, and Mastery". What about yours?
This seems like a good UA-cam channel, subscribed
Thanks!
I know my topic is unrelated to this subject but still i'm feeling like talking about it. I'm a guy in my early 30's who feels like life is running fast and yet hasn't done anything in life itself, this year i decided that i had enough of just slacking off "which is a big reason as to why i left a lot of opportunities slip by me" and just wasting my life away "which is something i hate about myself because of it i threw away my 20's instead of doing something back then" and i'm aiming for a job despite that i have no working experience whatsoever. I have dreams sure, two of those being married to a wonderful lady and being a parent which i know it will happen eventually, but for that to happen i want to work on myself first and prove to myself on what i can do and try not to frustrate when this doesn't happen how i see them or hope them to be. I hope that by this time i can change my sense of laziness which has been holding me back for years and become a better person or at least try to be the person i wanted to be ever since i was a kid. It's a long journey, but i'm willing to do things right this time and not use excuses or think that i'm not good enough to do something i want to do or hope to acheive in life.
I know it's a cliché but the best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, which you can't do now, but the second best time is today. So try to not beat yourself up over missed opportunities and what you could have done. Your younger self did the best he could. In my opinion, 18-30 is pre-season. There is still so much time to improve and set things straight. You got this Pablo.
@darkneosphere thanks for the advice man
@@pablodelgado7919 I'm glad to help
This channel is actually interesting I like old pkm games but i also like topics you are talking about so i subbed
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Tell that to romhackers, they want to put evey pokemon and every gimmick into their nonsensical hacks
Lol. There are definitely rom hacks that are better than others...
I don't really bother with them, official games that are Pokemon or not Pokémon are enough for me
Appreciate ur insight As a competitive pkmn player and a stan of the retro games, I do appreciate the effort u put in these videos U can surely kindle the discipline in ppl inclined to procrastination and making excuses Edit:And this is the basis of my yt channel as well, ppl who love pokemon, anime and those who are ambitious yet need a perfect guidance
You're welcome. I do try to make these video as good as I can, as well improving them over time, so I can have a bigger impact and help more people. That's great. Keep creating!
Glad I subbed
I appreciate it Professor
Wow. I can't believe i have found such a niche video that applies to me so perfectly. Pokemon and positivity. Thank you for making this video!
Thanks for checking in! I'm building the niche I wish I had when I was younger and coming home from school/uni, when I would watch a lot of Pokétubers.
The only way to have real freedom is to be independently wealthy. And since none of us are wealthy enough to not work, we're all just slaves to varying degrees.
In my opinion, if you love what you're doing, are healthy, have good people in your circle and have the ability to work when you want and travel when you want, that to me is true freedom. To me, never working again would lead to an unfulfilling life.
One of the biggest things that helped me break out of my shell when I was younger was getting my first car and being forced to interact with strangers every time I wanted to go and buy something or get food. I think that falls under the exposure therapy you mentioned but figured I’d kinda attest to its effectiveness.
Oh definitely! Taking to cashiers, waitresses, etc. is a great way of doing exposure therapy. Even going outside and making eye contact with people is a form of exposure therapy.
The message of this video is good but the pokemon emerald in the back makes it better
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that 😂
I thought this was going to be about pokemon
A new style of Pokémon content is on the rise
Motivational messaging on top of pokemon gameplay. This will likely only ever reach a niche audience... But that niche audience thanks you for speaking up. I can see myself in this message even more because of it. Tomorrow I will be getting my appendix removed. My goals are: - focus on recovery and get back on my feet. Do not rush this. - Proritize time with my wife. Put in extra effort for Valentine's day this year. - enjoy video games intentionally this month. Go in with a goal every time i play.
I'd rather have a niche community of good people that love Pokémon and want to become the best version of themselves, rather than get famous with fans I don't care about. So I'm all for it. I hope it goes well for you and hoping for a speedy recovery! Love that you are prioritizing family and intentionality.
Thank you brother
Glad you liked it brother
thank you so much for this, algorithm. my goals for this month are getting back out there after ending a relationship, and finishing my HG Battle Tower doubles Trick Room team (atm im breeding makuhitas)
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Good luck with putting yourself out there! Ah man, I remember when I was grinding Battle Maison Doubles in Alpha Sapphire with Dusclops and L1 Aron.
What on earth does this have to do with Pokémon???
The Pokémon gameplay just makes it easier for Pokémon fans to enjoy while getting the core message of the video. Keeps it fun and engaging instead of just talking to a blank screen!
😢
In Pokémon you should take it slow to experience everything
I set myself the goal to finish my pokemon tcg gameboy mod. It's been 2 years since i started.
That's awesome. Keep it up!
the world needs to see this mod. will you be sharing it somewhere?
Thanks guys. Helps to keep my motivation going. @RafuRum sure. The pret-discord will be the first place and anyone will be allowed to share and upload it anywhere. I just try to keep scope creep under control.
I feel like the most important thing to keep in mind is that success and progress are relative to an individual and are not defined by the achievements of others
Good point. I think it's super important to reflect over "What do I actually want?" and then go for it.
It's funny, this video showed up on my feed at the perfect time. One of my goals is to find a new more fulfilling job . I was looking at listings earlier and it made me doubt myself. But this video gave me the nudge to keep going.
Happy to hear that man! Make 2025 the year where you make that happen.
I am currently feeling stuck. I have a good job and hobbies I like, but feel like I cannot focus on much at all. For over two years I have heavily procrastinated on my university degree, and I feel almost scared to break out of just going to work and doing nothing for the rest of the day. Even checking what exams are coming up is scary, and end up just skipping without knowing what I even skipped.
Most people's attention span are sadly fried these days, due to overstimulation, so I get you. What do your perfect day look like? What would be your dream life 5 years into the future? Reflect over those questions and start moving towards it. If the university degree aligns with that, then start taking baby steps towards that dream life.
Do u feel overwhelmed by the Red Pill or Black Pill ideology??
@@AnweshanPandit The hell you talking about?
@munchlax633 U will surely succeed no doubts bout that bud I just wanna know the reason for procrastinating on ur University degree??
I've watched a total of 2 videos now and I just want to say keep up the great work! You're doing amazing things already and I can't wait for your channel to pop off. I myself am getting back into competitive smash bros because I realize I actually just enjoy playing and I'm a naturally competitive person. I tried to run from it because i couldn't handle balancing competition life, my work life, and streaming because I just tried to jump into it without much thought. I'm now in a similar situation but I'm much wiser now and I don't plan to make the same mistakes again. These videos you're making are s God send brother, keep it up! 🙏🏿🩵
Thanks brother, I appreciate you 🙏 Glad to hear that you got something out of the videos and have learned from your mistakes.
You’re real af for this. Keep it up 🙌
Appreciate it man! 🙏
I've been looking at the cheapest flights to do a solo travel for the first time this year. Real life might get in the way, but at least the idea is there now, and when I do it, I know I'll be proud of myself.
Good times to come my guy! Thanks for commenting! I'll be heading to Vietnam in March for a short trip.
Loved this, from the gameplay to the message. I personally just swapped my major a little less than a month ago, I went from psychology to elementary education. I had always wanted to go into education, but I was scared of chasing that dream as a man for one, since there’s certainly a stigma there, but also just because I knew I wanted to do it so bad that I was terrified of failing if that makes sense? But I’d like to think I’m taking a big step towards fulfilling the dreams of younger me.
Kudos to you for going with what you actually want, rather than what society tells you to. You're doing great. Thanks man!
I don't know if child me would be proud of adult me! He was an idiot. I still am. But I AM proud of myself today. I have a modest job that's helpful to society and I take pride in how well I do.
That's good. it sounds like you're thriving.
Motivational dialogue over Pokémon gameplay is soooo my niche, and an untapped one at that. Great video friend
Thanks friend! I'm hoping this niche will expand into a nice community in the future and I'm already seeing signs of that happening with comments like yours.
Closing this video with seeing one if the weakest pokemon evolving into one of the strongest was a nice touch
Good spot! That Magikarp "FromZero" is also a symbol of both my personal evolution as well as subscriber count.
I'll tell you what I'd do, man. Two chicks at the same time, man.
Popped in from the younger self vid, I’m so glad you’re making this content! It’s a weird time to be in our 20s, to me career and fulfillment feel so different than for other generations. I’m glad you’re making a place to share insights 👍
Yep, there are more choices than ever, so the amount of FOMO is also higher than ever. Especially with social media. Thanks Nick! I appreciate you.
Was not expecting a video with this thumbnail and title in my feed, so glad I got to listen to this! Making your younger self proud is a really fresh thought I haven’t considered doing, it helps you get context for all the things you should be proud of and that’s amazing. I wonder how old I’ll be when I finally kick the part of me that would never, ever say “it’s ok to suck” 😂 That‘s my biggest goal and has been for a while
I'm glad that I've made an impact on you! You've got this 💪 Giving yourself permission to suck really is a game changer for breaking through perfectionism and taking action.
As a molecular sciences student going through this right now on my last year I thank you for this video
Thanks for commenting! I'm glad that you found it useful.
I can't even express how much i needed the message. Not only have I wanted to make my younger self proud, but you also use a game I escaped to as a kid to get away from the world when I had no one. It's in my hands - no matter what.
Thanks a lot for stopping by and leaving a comment. In the little time I've been running this channel, I've found that I'm eerily similar to many of my viewers... You've got this man!
@darkneosphere the universe has a way of bringing like-minded folks together. Thanks again 💪

You're very welcome and thanks for stopping by. Game dev is pretty cool! I recently got more into coding as well. Haha nice! What's your current team? 😁
Another banger video, making your younger self smile is something I do not often think about - but definitely a strong lesson. Best of luck man! I'll be around watching the videos
Thanks again for your continued support! I'm glad you found it helpful.
I love your advice especially for young men. It is realistic and personal unlike the manosphere videos that are really just trying to profit off of misguided youth’s attention.
Thanks man! I've been burnt by many of the "gurus" out there, so my aim is to help people like my younger self avoid some of the traps that I fell into, so they can save time and money and put their energy into something that actually works.
I’m rooting for you as well brother, I will continue to check in constantly. I am also on a Pokémon kick as well.
Thank you brother, appreciate the support. Which Pokémon game are you currently playing?
You’re right even taking a different route to work makes things feel less mundane. I unconsciously did that often not knowing why. I’ve been stuck on a nostalgia cycle myself for a while and I agree we have to make changes to excite our lives
Yeah, it's something I keep reminding myself of when things start to get a little dull
New sub
Thanks buddy
I chose neither :) I chose to do a PhD - no bitches no money
Keep it going, buddy Fitness and financial security Date on your terms I'd also like to add. Creating or maintaining some type of relationship with the people around you. Think even as simple as grocery store people, bankers, fast food workers etc.
Thanks buddy, I will! Yeah definitely, having some type of community helps.
Last night I had a lucid dream where I was trapped in my hometown which was completely abandoned and my only ambition was to shepard my childhood dogs across the abandoned, ominous wasteland city I grew up to the airport so i could leave forever. But every hour or so I'd just end up back at the start. This video is nightmare fuel injected straight into my brain, its great. I miss those dogs. And I hated that city.
Sounds terrifying! Damn, what a dichotomy of emotions haha
