Akuani River Lodge, Colombia

Akuani River Lodge is located on the Vichada River, a tributary of the Orinoco. Colombia has recently gained attention for having an abundance of high-quality fishing, both in the eastern jungle, as well as the Pacific Coast. Akuani provides an amazing blend of trophy Peacock Bass fishing, as well as days spent in the rapids of the Orinoco in pursuit of Payara (Vampire Fish). Jon hosts trips to Akuani annually.

Black Sands Lodge - Colombia, May 2021

John Crowser and Sergey Sapronov joined me recently on the wild Pacific Coast of Colombia. Black Sands Lodge is located on an isolated beach, near the small village of Bahia Solano. Fishing here is diverse, with both inshore and offshore species available, through fly fishing, spin casting, jigging and trolling.

Yet again, Colombia and Colombia Afloat deliver. Our small group had a great trip to the Colombian jungle, even with tougher than normal fishing. The level of care, adventure, and beauty of this trip is hard to surpass. Thanks to Afloat, and to my great guests.

Partnering with Colombia Afloat, our group from Fly Water had a great week of fishing, and getting to know our Colombian hosts. This trip is just as advertised....full of adventure and excellent opportunities for world class Peacock fishing.
