Nanga Parbat the "Killer Mountain":
Nanga Parbat the second highest peak in Pakistan, known as the "Killer Mountain" is one of the most majestic peaks in the Himalayas.The ninth-highest peak in the world, standing at 8,126 meters (26,660 feet). Located in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Chilas City:
Chilas at an elevation of 1,265 meters, serves as a gateway for trekkers heading to Nanga Parbat, the city is surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Tatta Pani:
From Chilas to Tatta Pani travel distance is 52.8 km via Karakoram Highway/ N-35, which is famous for its hot springs. It's a great place to relax and rejuvenate before the trek.
Raikot Bridge:
The journey continues to Raikot Bridge, which spans the Indus River. It is located at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level. This is a crucial point for those heading towards Nanga Parbat. The bridge offers breathtaking views of the river and surrounding mountains.
Tattu Village:
Tattu Village is in Pakistan province of Gilgit Baltistan, at an altitude of 2,900 meters (9,515 feet) above sea level. Tattu Village can be reached by hiring a local jeep from Raikot Bridge. This charming village is often the starting point for the trek to Nanga Parbat. The hospitality of the locals and the picturesque setting make it a memorable stop.
Fairy Meadows Trek:
From Tattu, you embark on the trek to Fairy Meadows at an altitude of 3,300 meters (10,800 ft) above sea level. It serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on Rakhiot face of Nanga Parbat. In 1995, the Government of Pakistan declared Fairy Meadows a National Park. This trail is known for its lush greenery, wildflowers, and stunning vistas. The trek usually takes about 2-3 hours and leads you to the beautiful Fairy Meadows, a lush plateau offering stunning views of Nanga Parbat.
Beyal Camp:
From Fairy Meadows, you can trek to Beyal Camp (Altitude 3,550 m). This camp is a popular spot for climbers and trekkers, providing closer views of Nanga Parbat's majestic north face. It’s a perfect place for camping and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
Nanga Parbat Viewpoint:
The final stretch leads you to the Nanga Parbat Viewpoint. From here, you can admire the sheer scale of the mountain, often covered in snow and clouds. The viewpoint offers a spectacular panorama, making the trek worthwhile.

First Ascent:
The mountain was first summited on July 3, 1953, by Hermann Buhl.
Trekking Routes:
